Hahaha, I meant Shell Ultra not Ultron. HondaPH uses 0w20 synthetic oil on its newer cars. It comes in a white container with agreen cap. They call it the "green" oil for better fuel efficiency. They used to use the VTEC LEV 5w40 synthetic oil (white container with red cap). Both oils are manufactured by Idemitsu. Both are quite good and we have used them extensively in our City and Jazz.

Yes it should be fine. The cheaper the better. As long as oil changes are done regularly.

Honda factory fill has added moly to protect engine from the break-in period.

Masyado mabilis yung 1-2 years shelf life ng engine oil.

Kahit 5 years nakatengga yan pwede nyo gamitin.

As long as the container remains sealed good and theres no expiry date stamped into it the oil is good to be used

To put an expiry when its explicitly stated theres none is ludicrous

Marami talagang misconception sa car maintenance

That you can determine with different manufacturers

If its industry standard to stamp shelf life into oil containers then most oil containers will carry such mark if not then there will be none

Shelf life could be a pigment of over concious consumers imagination

As long as the container is sealed then its good

Heck some used oil are even recycled, all casas earn from the used oil every car owners throw away in their service bay. after filtering out the contaminants it goes back to the store sheves for all consumers to buy

Most oils have fs, semi, and mineral oils. 5w30 fs is fs. Unless otherwise mentioned that its not.

Nahanap ko lang, pinagcinompare yung old FS na 5w-40 sa new 0w-20.

The Layman Auto: What's with 0W-20 synthentic lubricant and will it last?

Both oils are rated API SM/CF. Nasa mga 1600-1800 per gallon yung price nito, depende sa dealer (mostly UniOil gas stations).

Total has its Quartz Gold 5w40 synthetic oil, API SN. P1680 per gallon yung kuha namin. Naubusan ng Idemitsu oil yung malapit na UniOil station so napilitan gumamit ng iba for the Jazz pero oks naman yung Total Quartz Gold so far.

Mas mura pa ata yung bentahan ng Zic synthetic oils. Mga 300 per liter kuha ng kaibigan ko kasi isang carton bilihan nya for his Montero Sport (7L per oil change).
