My take is if you have the money then use FS if short sa budget put mineral, the importnt thing is change your oil religiously. What I don't believe is the semi ones the in between.

if there is no legal definition of what a semi synthetic oil blend should contain,
some unscrupulous manufacturers can mix 0.1 liter of synthetic oil with 99.9 liters of mineral oil, and still truthfully advertise it as semi-synthetic oil, and sell it at a price advantageous to itself.

    heh heh.

this is true. I think I remember reading in road and track magazine decades ago 5% synthetic component by volume in semi-synthetic is generous already.

Kaya nga never ako nagpalagay ng Semi synthetic eh. It's useless panloloko lang yan.

Parang sa mga A/C HP now. Meron .5,.75

Baat for me pinaka mababa is 1 HP then 2HP and so on.

Hindr ako naniniwala sa half HP wala yan 1.5Hp etc. Pa loloko lang yan

ako sa gasoline engine once a year sa everyday use car

and once in two years sa twice a week car / around the barangay car

i want to maximize yung intended gamit ng oil but not abusing.

    Curious... what do you mean?

Got two half-HP units and they work pretty well for their specific application. One is for my small hobby workshop and another for the househelp's bedroom, also a relatively tiny room. 1HP is overkill and will just cycle on and off until something gives, often the condenser.

    BTT...

Case study lang for those who care enough to give their insights:

Say you have a turbo Diesel and an oil-change schedule of every 6k KM or 1 year. Got a long trip planned a month before the annual oil change is due. Would you change the oil before or after the trip?

Basta for me lowest will always be 1 HP. I don't think meron differrenxe ½ HP. Sa cycling i don't know dahil it's been a while since nag conventional A/C ako inverter na so hinde ko na narinig yun cycling.

    BTT:

I'll do it after. Wala naman masira of do it after or kahit lumagpas ng konti sa schedule plus takot ako meron galawin kahit na simple oil change lang before a long drive baka magka leak or something, it's sort of "why change when it's not broken" thing for me.
