sends signal to the ECU
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
Mass Airflow SensorSymptoms of Wear or Failure:
Engine may run roughly or not at all
Poor performance
Excessive fuel consumption
Stalling
Check Engine Light may come on or blink
appearance varies for different brands. normally, the MAF sensor is located after the Air Cleaner and before the Throttle Body.

usually, walang continuity dahil sa alikabok lang. try mo muna i spray ng electronic contact cleaner. pag ayaw pa rin, check the 2 wires inside the sensor, baka napatid lang ang wire, pwede hinang dyan. hope this helps
Was thinking the same thing...
That's one precision measuring instrument right there. A slight change in ECU reading because of fixing it the wrong way could mean engine hesitation or poor fuel economy.
Besides, these parts are consumable items... like O2 sensors or your spark plugs. They are meant to be replaced once they've reached the end of their operational life.
Ummm...

yes, sirs. pwede ihinang and we have done it before. may wires sa loob ng sensor na pwede ihinang pag napatid lang ang wires. it is bit tricky but very doable. why buy a replacement if you can repair it. tricky dahil pag nahawakan mo yong wires, grounded na. actually, i learned this when the maf sensor of my 98 sentra malfunctioned. nabasa ko sa forum ng sentra club na pwede palang ayusin. nagawa naman at ok na.

if yung "hot wire" sa loob ang hihinangin, maging accurate pa rin ba ang data ng sensor? wala bang effect yung solder sa platinum wire?the sensor contains a thin platinum wire, which can break if handled incorrectly
Jeez, if the MAF sensor is dead, no point in "repairing" it, or soldering it.
Thats just a cheap wear and tear part. I would GLADLY spend good money on the insurance of a new OEM sparepart, than having to be stranded on some lonely highway, at night, with my loved ones inside the car, all because my soldered or repaired MAF sensor fcuked up.
almost 2k petot din po yong sensor, nong sentra 98. yup, i agree. there is no better way than replacing the defective part with a new one. i was just sharing how we did it. tayo po kasing mga pinoy, mahilig sa kalikot at butingting sa sasakyan. lalo pag luma na ang sasakyan, kung bago at sagot pa ng insurance, syempre, palit agad ng bago.
- Check Engine Light will illuminate
- Engine runs poorly
- Vehicle may stall and/or hesitate on acceleration
- Poor fuel mileage
