Ah. I've done that too. Painful. Cracked the cylinder head on my Sentra in a flood. We had an odd burp in the coolant temps after the overhaul that we couldn't trace... and that was the finding.

I went to speedyfix for a compression test. It cost me 200 pesos. The results were 120-120-70-80. Due na daw to for overhaul. I'm quite new when it comes to car, which is better in my case, top overhaul only or overall? I own a Nissan exalta sta.

with those numbers, loose compression na talaga. general na overhaul yan talaga.

since malaki din gastos mo, i suggest you consider getting a surplus engine

Thanks for the input. So basically, konti lang ang difference ng gastos pag general overhaul and pag bumili ng surplus? Parang mas may advantage ang pag bili na lang ng surplus cause I do have plans of getting a stronger engine para mas gumanda ng konti ang takbo since I own a matic car.

I don't know kung what type ng compression check ang ginawa eh. Do you have figures sir ng rough estimate ng general overhaul?

Should get a leakdown to determine why the compression in those two cylinders is low. It can basically pinpoint where the pressure is going, whether out the piston rings or through the head gasket.

Thanks for the input! I hope top overhaul will do. But I do have plans of upgrading my engine.

If I were you.
