Guys any idea on which shop does a leakdown testing service...or a shop that does a compression test?...Any idea on how much...Thanks =)

compression test, speedyfix, servitek or any decent shop. costs 200-500
Leakdown test: 1,600 php. Speedlab.
3-6k is too much. That's the cost for a top overhaul already.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Thanks for the input guys...do all servitek centers have compression test or just selected few? I have been asking some shops about this but to no avail...I haven't tried asking servitek though...
Not many people do compression tests, though the equipment is pretty simple. Speedlab does compression, too.
Gasoline and diesel engines have different types of compression gauge. For gasoline engines, the pressure range is from 0- 250 psi and for diesel engines the range is from 0- 800 psi. In testing gasoline engines, you need to remove all the spark plugs and disable the ignition system and insert the test hose to the spark plug hole of each cylinder. For diesel engines, its a different story. You must have a glow plug adaptor or nozzle adaptor to fit on each cylinder for compression testing. Most of independent service shops don't have this instrument unlike the casas.
Para saan po ang leakdown test? Is it included in casa PMS or additional service?
Compression testing gives you a cylinder to cylinder comparison of absolute pressure numbers.
Leakdown testing tells you where the pressure is leaking out to... Out the valves, through the piston rings or out the headgasket.
Granted, diesel is different... but it's the gas tester I'm talking about. Very few shops have a universal tester for gas engines, despite it being a very simple machine.
Ah. I've done that too. Painful. Cracked the cylinder head on my Sentra in a flood. We had an odd burp in the coolant temps after the overhaul that we couldn't trace... and that was the finding.
Thanks for the input. So basically, konti lang ang difference ng gastos pag general overhaul and pag bumili ng surplus? Parang mas may advantage ang pag bili na lang ng surplus cause I do have plans of getting a stronger engine para mas gumanda ng konti ang takbo since I own a matic car.
I don't know kung what type ng compression check ang ginawa eh. Do you have figures sir ng rough estimate ng general overhaul?
Should get a leakdown to determine why the compression in those two cylinders is low. It can basically pinpoint where the pressure is going, whether out the piston rings or through the head gasket.
If I were you.
