September 17th, 2012 10:24 PM #1Hello!
Paano?
sensya napakastraight-forward

Yes.
Sa intake.
Wag kang maglusong sa baha,
Depende sa lalim ng baha.

Are you sure?
5 feet on a Trooper equates to water over the windshield.
The only way to drive in water that deep is to use a snorkel, which moves your air intake from the engine bay to the roof level.
Sure, the SUV will be able to cross deep water, but the water will still be able to enter the alternator, engine bay electronics, transmission, oil sump and transmission and differentials.
If the crossing is long enough, water will also enter the cabin and ruin your carpeting... and possibly your engine computer and dashboard.
The best course of action when confronted witth any flood crossing over 1 foot deep and a hundred feet long is to simply avoid it... Unless you have an old school diesel with no electronics, or a diesel with water-sealed electronics.
Three feet is already headlight level on stock height Troopers. Borderline passable. Meaning if yiu have no problems on the way, you might make it... but there is a chance you might not,

September 18th, 2012 12:41 AM #5the vid I saw was not actually a trooper but a jeep. It looks old and it has snorkels so that must be the reason why it lasted long on an over the roof water, it must have used old school diesel. ANyway, I was just asking because I saw this LandCruiser fitted with a snorkel on the neighborhood. IDK if it's already there when he bought it tho. thanks

There are snorkels available for the Trooper. Still, problem is, while you cantheoretically make it across three foot deep floods with thatset-up,it's still best to not eventry if you're unsure. If the flood is that deep and your cabin is sealed, there will come a point when your vehicle will start to float and can be carried by the current.

He's sort of an oddball... can't take him seriously sometimes. He offers more opinion than actual...
