just below 1000rpm (around 700-900) dapat ang ideal (with AC on na yan).

    mgbrillo,

Pre is your ride a GLXi? if it is then we have the same ride and this has been my RPM at idle

on cold-start (engine hasn't reached ideal temp and AC off) - 1200 RPM (note:this should go down gradually to 800 RPM within a few seconds)

When engine has reached ideal temp and A/C off - 800 RPM

Engine reached ideal temp and A/C on - 900-1000 RPM

If you're experiencing drastic dropping idle once the A/C turns on, there might be a problem with your servo or you might need to have it cleaned together with your throttle body. Throttle body cleaning solve my problem.

    HTH.

    It's a pizzapie 97 GL lang po.
Currently, idle RPM on start is 800-900 then goes to 1000- 1100(a/c turned on). okey lang ba ito? Paano ang Gas consumption if i have these figures when the car is idle? Thanks for the input guys..

hmm.... dun sa luma ko na oto, yung Lancer EL, which is also carbed like your GL, halos pareho lang tayo ng idle.

IMO yung idle mo on start is okay na. Kung gusto mo ipababa mo ng one notch lower ang idle mo, then observe. Pero sa tingin ko oks na yang idle mo eh.

    My 2 cents.

I'm no expert. But di kaya a wee bit too high ang 1K to 1.1K? If it is indeed a little high, that translates into unnecessary fuel expense. But I'm just wondering out loud. Like I said....I'm not the expert.

I was observing it just today.. mga 1000 nga pag idle with a/c on. pag walang a/c.. it drops to 900 then slowly goes up to 1000. Again, if i turned on a/c it drops to 900 then eventually stays at 1000.

Ako, newbie sa auto.. so I thank you guys for the inputs. if the above case it normal.. then I'd stick with the setting. if not, and if lowering it a bit would matter concerning is fuel consumption then the better.

yung unang nabanggit ko na 1000-1100 was just an estimation, that's why I observed it kanina.. para malaman ko yung saktong values.

yes sir, tama yung observation mo. kasi pag naka-on ang a/c e dagdag load yun sa makina. thus, hahabulin ng engine rpm yung idle para hindi siya mang nginig.

    Any help?
my nissan exalta GS ave a RPM problem. it started when i overhauled the radiator! the prob is when it goes to Drive shift the RPM abruptly down to 650:

    P:N = 850 RPM
    D = sudden 650 RPM
engine start = up to 1100 RPM then back to 850
AC on = RPM does not change

i already send it to the mechanic and cleaned the throttle, the problem still exist

    any help please!!!

If you're in Manila, take your car to SpeedyFix in Mandaluyong (http://www.speedyfixph.com/). Tell Migs (the proprietor) about the problem. The guys who overhauled your radiator may have forgotten to reconnect a vital sensor underneath the engine. You can always go back to the same shop but I would prefer to take it to SpeedyFix instead for a better analysis.

Ideal idling rpm would be 750-850. With aircon it should be the same since there is an actuator that automatically raises or lowers the engine rpm. If your engine idles around 1000 (with or w/out aircon), then you are wasting fuel.
