hmm kanina pina check ko na sa hyundai. unfortunately, not covered ng warranty since nag lapse nun 5k kms
so punta ako ng banawe.
upon assesment, there are 3 main components doon sa leak. (1)INJECTOR TUBE ( eto yata tawag) connected to the (2)FITTING then connected to the (3)FUEL INJECTOR.
It seems the leak comes from between the INJECTOR TUBE and the FITTING.
Hindi pa tapos ang gawa. kasi nun una, akala namin leaks came from between FITTING and FUEL INJECTOR. so ang ginawa, nilagyan ng teflon. It seems to stop the leak, pero hindi pala. Upon further testing and checking. Ang leak pala galing sa TUBE and FITTING. Try i replace bukas. Pahirapan mag hanap ng pyesa.

July 12th, 2011 11:51 AM #22So looks like a handy wrench will do the trick. I highly discourage putting teflon on the injector inlet (fitting) to seal the leak. The hazard of putting teflon in the inlet is its capability to damage the commonrail injector fully if a piece of teflon enters the "fuel stream."
The torque for this High Pressure pipe (Injector Tube) to Injector is 25 to 27 Nm. If there is still a leak after tightening, inspect where the damage is, if its in the high pressure line or the inlet of the injector. If in the HP line, replace high pressure line, make sure to buy original as most diesel fuel lines will not be able to handle common rail pressure, if damage is on the injector inlet, you can have it done by qualified workshops around.

tightening the injector tube and the fitting still doesn't solve it.
tried to get new parts but to no avail. even Wheels ERod doesn't have them.
so right now, naka teflon sya. no leaks na.

sabi nun shop na tumingin, parang may tama daw sa HIGH PRESSURE PIPE. may konting gasgas un dulo sya, parang pa bilog un itsura nya. wala mahanapan na pyesa nito. kaya teflon tape nalang nilagay.

July 13th, 2011 02:58 PM #25I would advise you to replace the high pressure pipe through Hyundai (pa-sadya nalang ng order). Teflon might do the trick, for now, but we have encountered commonrail injector failures due to contamination by teflon. If the high pressure line is available, replace mo nalang. Mahirap ng masiraan ng injector, may kamahalan ang pag repair.
Actually, if you follow the Hyundai and Bosch service concept, the high pressure line should be replaced, EVERY TIME it is loosened. This is to protect the High Pressure common rail system.

Compared sa ordinary injector, how much po ba ang crdi injector if it needs to be replaced?

The biggest issue is the quality of the fuel. With a good-quality diesel (or biodiesel) there will actually be not too much difference in the durability either for an ordinary mechanical injector or an electronic one. Not just due to the water contamination, the sulphur amount is also much more harmful on electronic injectors...

i have 2 failing injectors in our starex grx crdi. Hyundai quoted a brand new injector * 20-30k a piece. yes corrosion, water and etc messed it up. would it be advisable if we try surplus injectors (if meron)? thanks
