no problem pre...i can understand (and respect) your desire to be different, and any car can be a successful project car as long as you have the money and spend it right.

my only other advice on the k&n filters is to make sure you get a cold-air intake that sucks in air from outside the engine compartment...yung AEM-style.

filters that still suck in hot air will give you little to no hp gain

not a big fan of the rotary either because of the reliability issues - especially if you are transplanting a different make engine (like a mazda) into a suzuki - i have seen that usually it's impossible to get the wiring harnesses and instrumentation to work properly together.

i dunno also if there are many people where you live that can fix transplanted rotaries competently.

yup its a Starlet. The rotary engine only occupied about 3/4 of the space sa engine bay ng Starlet (w/c is small to begin with). I have also seen an old Ford Escort fitted with a Mazda rotary engine and it also kicks ass. volumetric efficiency is the trademark of a rotary engine.

One alternative is for you to go hybrid. a rotary engine can surely fit the engine bay of your Fronte. I have seen KP61 Toyota's fitted with tuned Rotary engines and they are oh so fast. ewan ko na lang kung hindi pa lumipad yang kotse mo pag nalagyan mo nun.

Where can I buy this kind of rotary engine?
San ba maganda magpamachine shop at mapagcustom made na ram air? Yung gumagawa ng mga ram air?
I've seen slalom cars remove one headlight and put ram air..

try doing some research online on suzuki kei-class cars and their variants. the fronte came during the early part (pre-performance oriented) of the kei-class development. these's bound to b a high output variant suzuki engine that would fit into the fronte. remember the daihatsu charade? it has a 1 liter 3cylinder twincam 12-valve efi turbo variant. and it also has a limited de tomaso(from the de tomaso pantera fame) edition that has all the bells and whistles.

the suzuki jimny that i've seen from the auctions have turbo 3cylinder engines in them, maybe they can be reconfigured to be mounted transversely for you application.

as for your ram air induction system, i'd be glad to lend you a hand in fabbing up a custom system for your project car.

Excellent idea. Mazda rotaries make upwards of 275 hp. I would be surprised if that ultra light Fronte wont make 100 kph in less than 5 seconds, after all matching mods have been applied. The only problem would be the price. I dont think a surplus rotary would come any cheaper than, say a 7MGTE. Besides, there wouldnt be anybody with the expertise to properly maintain, let alone modify, a Mazda rotary here in RP.
