well, the Jazz 1.5L would have given you more power (120hp vs 100hp) but since the 1.5L only comes in A/T, you might not "feel" the power difference as much.
If you want much more power, you can opt for either an engine swap or a turbocharger upgrade on your 1.3L engine. Either option will definitely invalidate the factory warranty on the engine.

if on a budget, go for a zc or d15b na lang. malaking mura siya compared sa b16 na aabutin ka ng 100k siguro.

kapag may sasakyan kayo huwag nyong iisipin ang sentimental value
the longer you keep your car the more it depreciates
sell it now then get a 2nd hand 1.6

July 18th, 2009 06:04 AM #17d15b (sohc) ~130hp
b16a (dohc) ~160hp to 170hp
d15b:
- minimal welds > less hassle, galaw > less risk of engine damping failure
- recommended
- mas mahal plus more welds to your bay
- more welds > more hassle, galaw > more risk
- mas bigat, di kaya ng stock front suspension, so you most likely have to upgrade them as well
- malakas na makina + your stock brakes + your aggressive driving + the unexpected = lam mo na (even the SiR's stock all disc brakes maybe underpowered for it's stock b16a engine)
- kaw bahala
d15b man yan or b16a, kung hindi maganda ang condition ng nakuha mo, magkakaproblema ka pa rin. mas madali nga lang hanapan ng parts and d15b kasi it shares some internals with out local 16 valve honda sohc engines

July 28th, 2009 05:47 AM #19Try mo muna magcanvass sa Evangelista and Banawe so you'd have comparisons.
*Just to clarify on my previous post, b16a is a relatively powerful engine, and I mentioned it's too powerful for the city's lightweight. To think it comes stock on EF hatch and EG6 hatch na mas maliit nga naman sa City. Pero those cars are well-tuned to hold the power (brakes, suspension etc). In the case of the City (which is tuned more for less abusive driving), main risk for transplanting in a b16a would be engine damping ang other engine bay attachment problems.
Plus you have to "up" the suspension and brakes.
eh b16a block pa lang 100K plus na. Suspension at larger front brakes pa. Eh to switch to larger front brakes magupgrade ka din to larger diameter mags (13 lang kasi stock ng City eh) para kumasya.
