October 15th, 2006 10:06 PM #13hindi talaga masunod ang nakalagay sa engine or hood kc its would differ from climate of one country to the other..
They already wrote an article on the matter. They compared the dealers' service schedule vs. the manufacturers' and the boy was the difference huge. Other dealer tactics included in the article included pushing uber expensive lubricants (way beyond manufacturer recommended) and pushing non-recommended additives.
When there is a disparity between dealer recommended and manufacturer recommended (check manual), always follow manufacturer recommended. I guess it'll be up to you if you want to follow general, specialized [e.g. European or GCC market] or the severe service schedule. Just make sure it is the manufacturer recommended schedule. Not the dealer [trying to make his wallet fat] schedule.

Front Differential
Rear Differential
Transmission
Transfer Case
Iyan ang pinapalitan ng gear oil sa 4WD. Iba-iba ang drain hole at fill hole niyan. So make sure you remove four drain bolts and you locate four fill holes.

YEP..
tama si otep. it's always better to follow the manufacturer's PMS, not the dealership's PMS. ung PMS stated sa manual natin is general for ASIAN countries with tropical climate. ibang version na kasi ng DMAX ung mga nasa cold countries with different engine, so their PMS differs from ours.. so don't be afraid if sinasabi ng mga dealers na yan na it will wear faster, they are not concern sa mga sasakyan natin, they just want to make money by insisting their PMS because it's part of their business..

Iba-iba naman schedule na recommended by the manufactuer depending on the market and they put it all in the manual. Example, in the Hyundai Starex manual there is a general service schedule, a schedule for European markets, and a severe service schedule.
Yung Kia Besta ko nga dati gusto pa lagyan ng fully synthetic ng casa. Hilo ba sila? Eh parang makina lang ng jeepney yun.
