kailan kailangan mo ng ipa-overhaul ang engine?

bago pa lang ako sa tsikot, i know that this is a stupid question anyway i just what to know your comment guys?
kelan b o ano ba ang mga signs na kailangan mo ng ipa-overhaul your engine? my ride is a hilander SLX 98 na isuzu, medyo
blo-bay ( tama b yung term ko )?

malakas pa naman yung hatak! and di pa sya malaks kumain ng krudo? yung puting usok sa tambutso and sa may dip stick lang, wla sa lalagyan ng oil?

if you want to check by yourself, pag MALAMIG pa ang engine, open the oil filler plug on top of the valve cover. start the engine and put the palm of your hand over the opening, sealing it with your palm. kaya sabi ko malamig ang engine kasi di mo to pwede gawin pag mainit, mapapaso ka. pag malakas na yung pressure (feel mo naman sa kamay mo e) lalo na kung pag-alis mo ng kamay mo may nakikita ka ng oil mist na bumubuga dun sa oil fill, blow by na yan. you can then have a compression test done to confirm. pero not all service shops have compression testers.

IMO, the a few sure-shot ways is to check following:
- oil consumption
- smoke (with diesels, this may have different resons though like dirty fuel systems, etc...)
- oil mixing with water/cooling system
- do a compression test (this is one sure shot way)

Sa Betan Calibration ni Doc Diesel pwede ang compression testing. Pero dapat cold engine na.

A Blown engine will require an overhaul to fix.

Heto sure ball test. Pag nauubos ang engine oil mo, lets say, you have to add a Liter of engine oil a week, hayun, pa-overhaul ka na.

kung hindi 1 liter per week ang kinakaing oil, sigruo 1 liter every 2 months, okay lang ba i delay muna ang pag pa overhaul? what are the consequences kung due ka na for overhaul pero hindi mo pina overhaul? thanks in advance!

Kung 1 liter every 2 months, oks pa yun. Im not sure lang, pero lalala lang ata yung symptoms pag di mo pinagawa.

oil consumption in engines can be attributed to a lot of causes. it may be valve seals, leaky gaskets sa crankshaft, oil pan or other outlets. if valve seals this may give off white smoke also expecially during startups and when the engine is cold but would disappear once hot. to make sure pa compression test mo na lang. hindi mo pa ba na valve set ang hilander mo since brand new? dapat at least once a year ito ang tune up ng diesel.

Yep, compression testing will help determine what exactly can be the problem (i.e. wet and dry testing)...
