Depending on the kind of racing you'll do a turbo may not be a good idea as compared to a supercharger. Why not just swap out the engine to something like a 22R from a Toyota? It will give you the displacement you want with the power and keep you normally aspirated which is better off road. But for the same size truck I'd rather use a Suzuki Samurai for off road use with the solid axle up front less likely to break compared to the IFS of the Feroza.
Thank you for the reply redorange. The engine swap to a 22R is a good alternative, Is the 22R still a 4 cyclinder engine? How hard is it to swap engines? Can I still get more power by supercharging it? How about the transmission, do we have to change it too? We would like to join 2 classes of races, the 4 cylinder class and the open class that is why we want the power of a V6 or a V8 engine. Hehehe btw our group is FerozaClubPh so you would understand why we dont want to use another platform. The plan is too convert the axles of the Feroza to either a TLC or Dana44 front 60 rear or Patrol with coil springs and a R&P of 5.29. We need tire diameters of at least 35" or preferably 38". We have identified a supplier for the solid axle swap, what we have not decided yet is the 4cylinder engine to use as we are in the quandary to swap another 4 cylinder engine or rebore the existing Feroza engine.
