    Picture ito ng 5K engine ng Toyota Liteace, 1991.

    Hindi din ako sigurado kung "engine pulley" tawag dito, kaya nag attach ako ng pictures. Siya kasi yung pulley na naka-attach sa main engine kung saan naka hook lahat ng belts para sa aircon, alternator at power steering kaya nag-assume ako na engine pulley siya.

    Maingay kasi yung makina pag start, at yung dahilan, natanggal na yung isang pulley. May "goma" daw yung "o-ring" na nakahiwalay (serves as clutch). Pag wala daw makitang spare nito, puwede daw gawin, weld directly yung natanggal na "o-ring".

    Ok lang ba ito? I think may dahilah kung bakit clutched yung pulley at baka may masamang mangyari pag i-weld directly. Hindi ko din alam kung anong belt ang naka-attach sa o-ring na ito, kaya wala din ako idea kung bakit dapat clutched siya... Hindi kasi ako kasama ng tinanggal nila at din maalala ng tatay ko kung ang belt na naka-attach.

    Crankshaft pulley po tawag dyan... Main pulley that drives all the other pulleys...

    Usually pinapalitan po buo yan... There's a tremendous amount of torque generated between the inner and outer ring ng pulley, di O-ring lang pinapalitan.

    Harmonic Balancer ang tawag dyan.

    Ang function nyan ay to absorb minute engine vibration.

    The rubber is vulcanized between the outside ring mass and the inner ring which has a key way to locate to the crank. The vulcanized rubber allows the outer ring to counter act the crank vibration.

    If you weld the outer ring to the interior mass you will eliminate this function. The result will be a two piece crankshaft(broken in two).

    Buy a surplus unit.

    kung 5K engine ang pinanggalingan niyan it shouldn't be that expensive... why not buy a replacement if not an OEM?!?

    Yung mechanic nag-recommend na weld nalang yung natanggal na piece. Sabi ko sa tatay ko huwag, kasi ma-defeat nga yung purpose ng design.

    Nwz, kanina nakahanap na tatay ko sa Blumentritt.. 1,100php yung kuha nila.

    Tanong ko na din for added info sa'kin tsaka sa ibang baguhan lang dito... Ano possible implications pag na-weld directly yung natanggal na part?

    ma feel mo vibration though not that evident. when starting the engine malakas palag ng engine, kahit flip mo accelerator ma feel mo yun "shock" sa engine.
