    I am about to replace my old reliable Isuzu Fuego with a Toyota Hi-lux E. Piro I read from some blogs here at tsikot na me problema daw sa 2.5 liter engine ng Toyota Hi-Lux??

    What gives??? .......

    The D-4D choking problem? So far this problem has been solved already for 2007 models or even late 2006 models.

    medyo ot lang ha. can you really buy a brand new engine without owning the vehicle first? and how much po ba most likely?

    ang alam ko pwede e. kaya lang it costs almost half the price of the vehicle. around 200 pataas. why did you ask anyway?

    Yep. Those are called 'crate engines' because they literally come in crates.

    A 4d56 crate engine was around Php135k the last time I checked.

    Crate engines are popular with the hot-rod and muscle car crowd. 350 Chevys are popular crate engines for used in project cars.

    As for the Hilux, they say the problem has been solved. I hope that's true.
