Does drain plug washer is really required to replace every oil change?

Hi everyone,

Does drain plug "washer" is really required to replace after a change oil? The reason is, I inquired a non-casa shop and ask for quotation of a change oil. To my surprise, it cost 90 pesos for the washer alone. Akala ko makakatipid ako ng onti kapag hindi casa, since they also charge me for drain plug washer everytime na magpapa change oil ako hehe.

90 pesos is a small amount, but hey katumbas na rin un ng isang budget lunch meal.

for an item that normally costs pennies, 90 bucks is highway rubbery.
some replacement oil filters even include it in their package, free.

chances of leak are less, if one used a new washer and not re-use the old washer.
