What local vehicles have gas direct injection (GDI)?
- all SkyActiv-G
- FA20 (except for BRZ/86)
- Hyundai?
Here's how to clean those intake valves and all those carbon buildup in a Mazda Skyactiv engine.
From the video you can see that the intake valve is already fully covered with gunk

Installing an oil catch pan does help reduce the possibility of oil going through the intake valves.

If oil catch pan can help reduce the oil going through the intake valve, how come car manufacturers are not using it by default?
There are OCC design that drains the oil back to the system.. diesel engines also suffer from carbon build up but can withstand..
For my mazda skyactiv, i use petron blaze fuel... i noticed that almost zero soot formation at the tail pipe.. not like before when i was using xtra or xcs unleaded.. less soot means lesa carbon build up at the intake valves
It has an oil separator integral w/ the Positive Crankcase Vent system.
Here's the removal procedure:

It's not just the fuel. You'll have to wisely choose your synthetic oil & keep the change interval short.

Looks like these downsized gas engines with turbochargers are going to be maintenance nightmares for those who intent to keep these long term.
Use the engine oil spec required for your car's engine. Eto kasi ang fully tested ng manufacturer sa car engine nila.
For example sa Mazda Skyactiv direct inject gas fuel engine, required talaga na ACEA A3/A5 Euro blend or API SN / ACEA C3. Using other oil spec may lead to some side effects, e.g. oil gunk deposit build up due to incorrect viscosity.
