is there such difference between Heavy Duty oil Diesel and without Heavy Duty Labels with same grade range?
Example: Shell Rimula X Diesel 15W-40 has Heavy Duty labels and recommends for trucks, buses.
While Shell Helix Diesel Super 15W-40 doesn't have Heavy Duty Labels and website says recommended for Auv,Suv and Vans.
same 15W-40 grade, but different recommendation for rides...?Last edited by rion; June 25th, 2007 at 02:54 PM.

July 7th, 2007 09:47 AM #2For marketing purposes lang yung paglalagay ng "heavy duty". Just to differentiate the different variants. Pag may "heavy duty" they can price it at a premium. What is important is to verify the quality level (e.g. CH-4, CI-4, etc)

But isn't the Helix Super supposed tobe more expensive than the Rimula X?
I canvassed before and that is what I found out.
Normally, the Rimula X is for fleet and utility vehicles such as delivery trucks, pick ups, etc.
The Helix Super is for SUVs and other personal vehicles. It can be used for turbo charged diesels as well.
I'm not sure if Rimula X can be used on turbos as well but I guess it could.
All the stuff above is based on my research when looking for oil for my rig.
I currently use Rimula X and buy by the pail.
If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct my misconceptions and help the others as well.
Hope this helps.
