    Hindi maganda yung white smoke. Sana wala lang sa timing ang injection pump. Mas mabuti kung patingnan mo sa mechanic..

    Good day.

    I own a 95 JDM Pajero with 4m40 TDIC engine (A/T). It has 137,000 kms already. I regularly change my oil at 5,000 kms (including air filter, oil filter, and fuel filter). So far, I have no issues with hard starting, excessive black smoke. Fuel consumption is at 6km/L to 7km/L city, 10km/L to 12km/L highway. Never had my pump/nozzles repaired or replaced throughout my 5 year ownership.

    I have read a lot of forums already (including this of course), I just want to ask for your honest opinion.

    1) If I replace my exhaust pipe to 2.5 in., will this help in increasing my high speed (I target to hit around 120 to 130kms) and acceleration at low to mid speed ranges?

    2) Should I replace my injectors or have it checked given the odometer reading? Though like you said before...if not broken dont fix it. I am just wondering if this could improve my FC and engine response. I got a chance to have my car dynoed and the owner said that based on their readings everything seems fine. But as the owner of the car, I believe there is still room for some improvement.

    3) I have my thermostat removed from my radiator, would you recommend it having back? What is the effect of having this part removed?

I don't think doing this will improve the situation. Injection pump settings and turbo boost have the greatest influence on power and speed. You can measure exhaust backpressure to see if you have any restriction in your exhaust system.

    2) Should I replace my injectors or have it checked given the odometer reading? Though like you said before...if not broken dont fix it. Your injectors seem to be okay, so use them. But if your injectors were inspected at our workshop, we would recommend replacing them as the nozzle flats would be deeply eroded due to high mileage wear. I am just wondering if this could improve my FC and engine response.It will not. I got a chance to have my car dynoed and the owner said that based on their readings everything seems fine. Did they measure exhaust backpressure during dynotest? But as the owner of the car, I believe there is still room for some improvement.

    3) I have my thermostat removed from my radiator, would you recommend it having back? What is the effect of having this part removed? You have to put it back. Your engine will be running too hot or can overheat.

    Sir, pwede ba magbago ang fuel consumption mo kapag nagpalit ka ng timing belt? 2C engine, 65k km, para kasing lumakas consumption after magchange ng timing belt.

    Sir dd, i have a taxi, accent crdi. white smoke napo lumalabas sa pipe, sabi po ng mekanik ko, kelangan daw po pa-calibrate mga fuel injectors. Tama po ba? Ano po ba dapat ko gawin? Ung mga tinawagan ko po na shop, grabe po ang prices sa calibration. I badly need ur help and advise.

    Sir dd, i have a taxi, accent crdi. white smoke napo lumalabas sa pipe, sabi po ng mekanik ko, kelangan daw po pa-calibrate mga fuel injectors. Tama po ba? Sa experience ko, bihira panggalingan ng white smoke ang injectors. Pwede naman tanggalin at i-test ang injectors para makasigurado ka.

    Ano po ba dapat ko gawin? Ung mga tinawagan ko po na shop, grabe po ang prices sa calibration. I badly need ur help and advise.
    Bagong linis lang po egr,turbo at mga tambutso.

    May tanong ako:
    1) hard starting ba?
    2) malakas ba ang blowby pag binukas mo ang oil filler cap?
    3) Ok ba ang power?
    4) kelan yung huling palit ng air and fuel filters?
    5) Kelan ba nagsimula ang white smoke?

    Sir DD, Good Day!

    I recently got a 2006 Isuzu Alterra, 65k on odometer, 2nd hand from dealer. Changed oil, changed air and fuel filters. Power is good, consumption is ok. The problem: It emits a lot of white smoke (the kind that is nakakahiya) when getting up from stop to go on traffic lights, little to no smoke on idle. I bought it to Central Diesel and they performed diagnostics. Found no fault on their scanner. Mechanic floored the gas pedal and it exhausted a black cloud that overtime gradually reduced. I told him that I don't have problem with that kind of smoke, My problem is the white one that appears when in traffic and the signal lights.. told me that "maybe" I just need to tax the engine more cause its been idle for quite a long time (assuming cause of year 2006 with 65k mileage), baka may mga bara-bara lang na naipon" since it came from a dealer. I'm ok with that but, it really bugs me to see this white cloud of smoke when in traffic and upon going from a traffic sign... please help.

    Question:
    Upon reading this thread (up to page 90 pa lang eh), I found a similar post to what I'm experiencing and you replied this:

    If we assume that your nozzles are good, try these:

    1) Check injection pump timing

    2) Check valve clearance

    3) Check compression

    4) Check injection pump


    Aren't these parts checked by the diagnostic scanner? Am planning to go back to have these parts check.

    This thread is the best resource I've found for troubleshooting diesel and pacifying troubled diesel owners like me....

    Engine: 1KZ-TE (subic)

    Problem: bigla po namatay makina, naka idle sya mga 1minute pa lang. Try restart ayaw na, pero may redondo.
    Tinry ko buksan yung apat na injector then pump ko wala diesel na lumalabas try ko din po iredondondo wla pa rin diesel. Then yung pump e sobrang tigas po. San po kaya ang problema? My kinalaman ba ang spill valve? If yes paano ko itest gamit ang tester?

    Spill valve is a possibility. Pero marami pang maaring causes ng no-start. My advise: ipa scan mo, or ipa troubleshoot mo sa marunonong.

    Sir DD, ask ko lang Po help nyo. I have a 2003 starex TDIC, pina tune-up ko last dec before going to a vacation sa Baguio, ng nag tatravel na ako along sctex napansin ko na sagad na pala apak ko sa gas pedal peru Ayaw na humataw so mga 90kph lang talaga sya, then worst is hirap na hirap sa akyatan even sa low gear, and then mausok sya (medyu light naman Ang color). Now, am not sure kng Yung tune-up Ang naging cause or nagkaproblem Ang diesel injector ko. Ang RPM nya nde na halus umaabut ng 1.5k. Sobrang walang power or hatak. Salamat po

    Check/replace air filter, then check/service EGR.

    sir diesel dude patulong naman po, nakabili kasi kame ng elf truck na electronic type galing nung pinaandar namen wala naman siyang usok sa exhaust pero nung nilabas na namen at nasa NLEX na kame eh umilaw ung check engine then na notice namen makapal na itim na usok na yung binubuga binalik namen ang sabi wala na daw connection yung ilaw ng check engine, nagtry kame mag pachange oil then nagpalit din ng oil at fuel filter nung naalis ung fuel filter ung laman nia parang kape na may creamer ang kulay, medjo nabawasan naman ung usok pero tingin ko hindi pa din siya normal, ano kayang magandang gawin para mawala yung black smoke nakakahiya kasi sa mga kasunod lalo na pag paahon grabe ang buga, isa pa sir diesel dude pag bagong andar siya may nginig ung idle nia pero pag uminit na nawawala na, 4hg1 na electronic type pala ung engine

    Hi sir Dieseldude, ano po kaya problem ng kia pregio 2.7 a/t namin. sagad na ang apak ko sa silinyador pero walang hatak, hirap sa arangkada, lalo n sa akyatan, 80kph lang ang sagad at mausok sya at malakas sa diesel. nagpalit n ko ng air filter, at fuel filter nag change oil n rin ako so palit na rin oil filter. pero ganun pa rin. nagpalinis ako ng injectors last may, medyo naging ok sya pero ngayon iba na talaga. if ever po ano po b dapat ko ipagawa, at saan po maissuggest nyo na shop. im from espana manila. thanks in advance.

    Sir DieselDude hope you could enlighten me with this thought. I've been wondering kung ano po ang maari mangyari kung yung injector pop off ko ay na sa mas mataas na pressure kunyari nasa 2000 psi. or mas mataas pa. Thanks in advance.

    Check EGR, then check injection pump.
