    Hello mga Paps and Mams,

Is it bad to use Cruise during break-in period? Because you will have a constant RPM. Hindi naman maiiwasan sa Hi-way ang constant rpm, maliban nalang sa zigzag roads.

And I think sa factory palang binirit na yung engine.

    Thanks.

Just not at extended constant speed. It's just 1k kms worth of wait.[emoji4]

Used it in NLEX at 100kph which is fast

Kahit naman kasi di gumamit ng cruise, constant talaga speed at rpm sa nlex hehe

100kph is around 2000rpm(plus or minus 250rpm depeding on vehicle) its the sweetspot for most engines. thermal efficieny is near the peak.

120 is fast as it is away from the peak thermal efficiency...this should be avoided during break-in

Don’t overthink it. Just drive normally and not like “drive it like you stole it” type.

Congrats and drive it in good health.

Yes Sir, I just drive it the normal use. I asked this bec someone mentioned that it should be avoided haha.

In the first place, the manufacturers should have disabled cruise until you reach a thousand mile to enable cruise if it will destroy the engine.

I am new to AT cars, always drive a manual for many years. thanks

You’ll likely damage the engine through overheating and not following proper oci.

When I broke-in my 2019 Camry SE, I stuck to roads with 40 mph to 50 mph stop and go traffic. I kept RPM no higher than 4000. Later in the break-in period, I started using the paddleshifters and experimented with shifting at different RPM ranges, while remembering to keep RPM at 4000 or less.

Once the odometer went past 630 miles, the break-in period was over. Only then did I take the car to the freeway, accelerating to freeway speeds (65 mph to 85 mph) and taking it beyond 4000 RPM, usually 5000 and less than 6000 RPM for spirited acceleration (red line is 7000 RPM).

Oh. The manual stated the first 630 miles is the break-in period. It varies, depending on the car.

    o ayan it's already idiot-proof language

do not maintain constant speeed for long periods. this means don't use cruise control at particular speed for long periods

what's so difficult to understand w/ this simple sentence

well be doubtful if it says sacrifice a goat or something. but that babad at constant speed is on every user's manual i've read but i'm not an engine nerd so i can't really say for sure. but i think it has to do w/ resonance. at particular engine RPM AND load certain spots on the parts are polishing against each other. if you vary the RPM or load other spots get polished

i see. but imo, if it concerns internal parts getting polished, i would say mas maganda siguro kapag constant speed para smooth ang rubbing ng parts.

Dude not your expertise not mine either. But read about resonance and it'll make sense
