[quote=4JGtootsie;986116]That is what I know the 4JX1 as early as 2000 model. The first kaya the 2nd na lang ang tinanong ko for obvious reasons.
Isuzu Trooper uses an entirely different common rail system as those we see on current vehicle models.

Siemens/VDO are also making there name in CRDi and electronic fuel delivery systems. With this competition with Bosch and other oems we can see where diesel engines are going and going fast. Major common rail players are Bosch, Denso, Delphi, and Siemens. They are all here in the market, installed and running on various CR diesels.

I am really eyeing the VM Motori 3Liter CRD for replacement engines for the trouble riddled trooper with a 4JX1 mill. Any comments or reaction? This idea will be fraught with problems. Best thing to do is to study the 4JX1's problems, evaluate the situation for possible improvements / modifications, and try them out on 2terns' project. You may need some inputs from Isuzu though. If successful, you will make a lot of people happy while earning good bucks. How does this sound?

Again I have to agree with Dieseldude. HUEI on the 4jx1 is significantly different from Bosch and the rest of the OEMs because it uses an engine driven oil pump to feed high pressure oil into the injector to pressurize the fuel. A high pressure pump is not needed (CP3 common rail pump). Fuel is fed to the injector at a relatively low pressure (50-70psi) and a solenoid controls the high pressure oil going into the plunging mechanism to ramp injection pressure up to 21,000 psi. Huei was developed by Caterpilar and used on the 7.3L Power Stroke V8.

t2ern is very a patient person, relaxed and systematic. He will need support before his patients runs out and burns the unit out of disgust. Natuwa nga ako when he posted about needing help. A 4jx1 that we can actually examine, evaluate and tinker with the permission and full support of the owner.

If successful, you will make a lot of people happy while earning good bucks. How does this sound?

    Sounds good!

Electronic control unit is the brain in electronic engine management and it function like it. The unit monitors, actuates, coordinates, warns, derate or even shut down the engine.

    *Sir Dieseldude,

You stated na iba ang common rail system ng Trooper sa ibang vehicles. Trooper lang ba ang may unique na common rail if given the same year? What about CRDi's in 1998 or below?

Yes, the Trooper's CR system is unique, and we have never seen a similar sysem installed on other vehicles here before or after 1998. This system is quite popular in the US on Ford and Navistar engines though.
