    Notes:

    1. Temp doesnt go up when its partially working. Temp goes north when pump dies.
    2. Fuel consumption goes up considerably.
    3. Throttle response isnt good- delayed power.
    4. Transmission seems jerky.
    5. If you start the engine again, tacho goes low-ecu senses hot engine?
    6. A/C isnt as strong
    7. Failure was imminent at 250,000km
    8. Top radiator hose is warmer significantly than the bottom hose
    9. Main failure: bearing siezed
    10. Computer readout: overheat even before waterpump failed.

in some cars, the water pump leaks because of its age..
although strictly not water pump failure, it does lead to engine overheat due to coolant loss.
and if this leak is hidden from view, it makes trouble-shooting so much more difficult.

In our Mazda3, the A/C just stopped cooling. Like it was a switch turning off, it just stopped in the middle of driving. That's was like 10-15 mins before the temp gauge started to climb up... then there will be a point when it will just drop (no, it ain't suddenly cool...but you're probably not far from really big trouble.) Good thing I was already in front of Camp Aguinaldo, so all I had to do was turn around and park quickly * Mazda Greenhills. A new waterpump later, all is well again.

Experienced a water pump failure on a non ecu equipped car. So gauge lang ng temp ang basehan.

Kapag naka stop, dun tumataas ang temp. Had to stop every 5 mins to refill the radiator with water. Definitely stressful. Buti nangyari sya nang gabi at less ang traffic.
