    guys i just want to ask if totoo sinabi ng mechanic sakin kasi tinanong ko kung bakit pag unang start ko ng auto ko puti ung usok niya then pag nagtagal nagiging black ang sabi sakin overhaul nadaw that cost me 120k? lahat daw papalitan piston ring valve. hindi po kasi ako makapaniwala kasi hindi ko naman inaabuso engine ko tapos nagkaganon. anu po kaya possible sira pag ganon white ung usok sa umaga then pag naginit naman na ung makina nagiging black pero napansin ko din biglang ang sobrang usok nia compared dati. and isa pa my effect kaya ung air filter ko kaya ganon kasi nagpalit aq ng simota air filter recently lang. please help kung anu pinakamagandang gawin and anu kaya posibleng sira.
    anyway my car is isuzu hi lander mdl 2001.

    don't fall victim of an expensive unnecessary guess. did the "mechanic" do a compression check? did he do fuel system check? did he check the injection timing ( is it diesel)? does the air filter have excess restriction? did you try running it with the oem air filter? your choice to ride the guess boat

    never pa po ako nagpa check so un po gagawin ko first step ko po pacheck ko muna un mga sinabi nio. kasi hindi talaga ako makapaniwala sa sinabi na ganon agad overhaul na. pero sa case po na ganyan sir hindi pang overhaul yan. ok naman kasi nakakaluwas pako ok naman hatak niya. ang problema ko lang talaga sobrang usok saka ung white na usok nia pag unang start then pag nagtagal black na ang weird talaga. pero papa check ko nalang nga para maka sure ako. sana naman hindi for overhaul kasi sa mga nababasa ko s thread ang mahal magpa overhaul. saka babalik ko nalang ung oem air filter ko baka problema din kasi dun s paglagay ko ng simota e

    pa-check mo sa tunay na mekaniko hindi sa manghuhula.

    isa pa, 120k makakabili ka na ng 2 surplus na makina kasama na transmission. ang complete overhaul, parts, labor and machining hindi aabot ng 40k (di sama injection pump and injectors ha). niloloko ka nun kasi alam na bagito ka sa ganyang lakaran. kung kaibigan mo yun e dapat hindi na ngayon.

    uu nga kuya e thank po for the info 40k po ang range ng overhaul sa tingin ko po ok naman ung injection pump ko e. gulat talaga ko 120k daw e kung ganon kako trade in ko nalang to auto ko. pwede pa pa compression check ang diesel engine? ang hirap nga magtiwala nga ngayon sa mga mekaniko konti nalang talaga nagsasabi ng totoo minsan kahit hindi sira gagawin nila para sa pera mali nga un ganoon hirap magtiwala talaga ngayon. pero thanks kuya sa info nio.

    Good day sir, baka puwede sumali, ito alang ang masabi ko pa check mo ang pressure ng iyong injector, kasi pag matagal ng hindi umandar ang iyong engine ay tumutulo ang iyong injector, hindi cya mag hold ng injector pressure, kaya naipom ang diesel doon sa top ng piston kaya maputi ang una mong star ng iyong engine,,,

    kailangan muna dito compression test .

    compression test can be done from battery readings ,no need to touch the engine . i use a picoscope equipment .this can also tests excessive engine blowby .

    My car is Toyota Corolla 1992 big body. (gas)
    Ganyan din sa akin... White Smoke and nag babasa ang isang spark plug ko... What i did is nag pa Top overhaul ako, pinalitan yung mga valve seal... Okay pa naman daw yung Piston Ring ko.. 6,200 lang pagawa ko, and then nag padagdag lang ako ng 1,800 kasi pina palitan ko na rin mismo yung isang set ng valve. abot ako 8,000.

    120k for an overhaul? Your so-called mechanic is nuts! Get a second opinion from reputable shops.

    Where's your location btw? Maybe we can suggest reputable shops based on your location of choice.

    yes we don't need to touch the engine anymore by using this method and it doesn't matter if gas or diesel engines .

    i have been using this method 5 years now and its highly accurate ,

    through amp probe that comes with the picoscope equipment, it reads the draw from the battery that the tech will be able to analyze the outcome of the test .

    indication that the engine is sound is when we get a uniform waveform display .

    if one cylinder has no compression we get no waveform at a certain time . less wave form = low compression

    if there is a bearing problem or any resistance from the engine , it shows an excessively high draw from the battery .
