    Good day po. Newbie here.
We have engine po of toyota fortuner 2015 diesel. We are planning to buy older model po na gas engine at low price then salpak namin ung engine galing sa nasira na fortuner namin.

    Thanks in advance.

For peace of mind, sell your engine for scrap and just buy a used Diesel Fortuner.

that's what we were warning you against, sir.
you buy the gas fort, you spend time and effort on the transplant, and you are still not guaranteed of a "perfect fit".
be mindful, that the diesel dashboard is not the same as the gas dashboard. i would bet, the ECU won't be the same, either.

but if you buy the fort with diesel engine, it is already a perfect fit.
you can sell the gas engine.
wala pang sakit-ulo, pagod, and spent time.
many folks do not know how to put a price on their time and effort.

how much is the difference between a used diesel fort, and a used gas fort?
my guess is, the proceeds from selling your gas engine, will pay for the difference, and wala pang sakit ulo and time and effort spent.

Based on personal experience yung ganitong venture is a sure money pit.

Paghanap pa lang ng shop that can guarantee a clean conversion like sa balak ni TS pahirapan na.

I'll add another reason NOT to do the transplant.... well, two reasons.

    1. You'll have to go through the motions to update the LTO registration of the recipient vehicle due to the engine change
    2. A huge chunk of the resale value of the recipient car goes down the drain. Nobody wants a converted vehicle... not when a stock Diesel variant is readily available on the market

What happened to the original diesel engine? Is there really no chance of giving it a second life?
