i am currently trying to fix my ae92 car with a 4af engine. this car has been relatively idle for 4 years.

i decided to change the carb with a surplus when i got fed up with the idling issues.

the surplus carb was fine and the engine run a lot smoother. however, when i tried to drive the car, the engine stalled and i was not to start it since then.

my first guess was the tank ran out of fuel to I bought some 4 liters of fuel. i put some gas on the carb and started the engine. it seemed that it would run but then die again.

now what do you think is the problem here? did the carb get clogged when the fuel tank emptied???

do i need to put more gas in the tank?

i already checked the high tension wires and it is working fine.

it could be from the fuel supply

fuel lines ,fuel pump , fuel filter, primary carb circuit ( float , jets)

do any of you know a simple way of checking if the fuel line is clogged or not?

i can take care of the fuel filter and the carb. but the fuel line I am not familiar with. i am planning to take the fuel tank down and clean it DIY style and check the fuel line as well.

    tnx!

check the sight glass ( your carb should have it) at the carb and you should see the fuel level right at the half.

if the level is at the half , suspect the carb

if there's no fuel present , it could be lines , filter, fuel pump
