Black Sludge and Toyota/Lexus

Magpapa 1k PMS ako next week, balak kong palitan ng synthetic oil yung dating mineral oil. Kelangan ko pa bang mag flush ng engine? TIA

Hindi ako magtataka kung ang makina ay diesel engine pero sa toyota gasoline engine hindi normal ito. Akala ko pa naman sila ang mas advance sa technology sa mga japanese car maker.

Ang alam ko isa sa mga dahilan ng sludge build-up ay ang poor combustion. Ang by-product ng combustion ay bumabagsak sa crankcase at hahalo sa langis.

Ang alam ko isa sa mga dahilan ng sludge build-up ay ang poor combustion. Ang by-product ng combustion ay bumabagsak sa crankcase at hahalo sa langis. Kadalasan mangyayari ito kapag hindi maganda ang pagka "break-in" ng makina noong bago pa. Pwede rin ang quality ng piston rings ay hindi compatible sa material ng cylinder liner kaya hindi mag seat-in kaagad during short break-in period, pero after several thousand running hours when the piston rings attained the optimum tightness sa cylinder wall itong oil sludge build up ay ma neutralized.

Tumirik kahapon si Mrs sa SLEX, dala nya ang ZZ. napatow nya papunta sa mechaniko namin. Ng buksan ang makina. SLUDGE!

DOHC ang makina. iyong exhaust cam hindi umiikot pag inis-start ang makina.

for complete engine overhaul. then sa weekend, ipapa machine shop ang makina

good to hear na walang nangyari masama kay commander sir...delikado pa naman yun tumirik sa expressway.

anung zz yan sir? as in altis 1.6? 3zzfe? naku nakakatakot naman

1.6E A/T I think this is 3zzfe. Nov 2001 nabili ng first owner. Dec 2007 nabili namin from the 2nd owner.

buti na lang naitabi nya mula fast lane to the shoulder. North bound siya kalalagpas ng caltex.

8+ years old. odometer is at around 120,000+ km

nine year old ZZ series engine. Did you maintain a strict service intervals at 5000 km between services?

the first owner used full synthetic after the 10,000km pms. and from the record, nasusundan naman ang every 10K pms. got the ZZ Dec 2007. using RP during oil changes every 10,000Km
