Had a chat with mr. Gil of Jaisi auto parts. He told me that according to a Japanese Enginneer of Nissan small oil filters are better than the big ones (OEM of course) . This is because of their ability to circulate oil faster than the bigger ones. What do you think?

hehe, dapat ata tinanong mo ito before ka nagpalit ng oil filter baka meron sumagot dito ng kabaliktaran, magsisi ka pa

Di ba mas malaking filter mas malaki din capacity nya magipon ng dumi? It might be true, because smaller filters tend to distribute quicker which has lesser filaments inside.
Ano nga ba mas maganda, malaki o maliit?

i think mas maganda yung malaki, come to think of it, di ba pag mas malaki ang filter syempre mas nasasala ang husto yung dumi. pero kung ang OEM e maliit, that would not be a problem, kasi manufacturer's specs naman kaya ok lang yun.

:bald:

di pa naman ako nag change (bukas pa). nasa akin pa yon filter, may option pa akong magpalit. yun specs ng small filter (OEM ito)gamit sa 6 cyclinder gas engine ng nissan and alos some diesel engine too. sabi nya
kung katulad natin ng mahilig mag maintain ng ride this is better, pero kung matagal ang interval magpalit ng oil kahit malaki ang filter mababara din. from what i know may by-pass valve ang mga OEM filter, this is to protect the engine in the event na mag clogged ang filter.

March 2nd, 2004 10:10 PM #7yup me bypass valve nga ang oem oil filter, and some engine's lube systems ata. Pero pag sa bypass valve na nagdaan ang oil, it means unfiltered oil ang nagcicirculate sa engine mo.
Eh kung nag clogged yung maliit na filter a thousand kilometers before your regular oil change interval?

regarding w/c size is better, bigger gives your more filter surface surface area, so in terms of filter life, mas matagal bago ma-clog ang malaki. Kung maliit naman, mas mabilis nga oil circulation non. as to which is better, aba ewan :D nasubok ko na rin gumamit ng mas malaking oil filter. ala namang noticeable difference. siguro sa long term use mo lang mapapansin. pero, one thing for sure, madadagdagan ng konti yung oil requirement mo for the the oil change to make up for the additional volume of your larger oil filter.

Salamat sa mga replies ninyo. Lalo ako nalito :D. At least may pag-iisipan ako mamya bago ako matulog. BIG=bigger filtering area, SMALL=faster circulation.
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
