mobil1 5w-50 for both our cars...
Used Havoline Energy on my Toyota and
tried Havoline Fully Synthetic on my Honda.
Very good oils, definitely.
But these rounds of price increases have
resulted in these oils being very expensive.
So when I changed oil last weekend, I decided
to go back to mineral based 20W/50 oil.
Stumbled on a cheap brand in Hans Tools in
Shangrila Mall - Petronas Mach 5 20W/50
API SL for only P420.00 per gallon. They also
have synthetic blend and fully synthetic at prices
25% cheaper than Castrol, Mobil and Pennzoil.
I'll just go back to Havoline when oil prices
normalize. As it is now, panic prices are prevailing...
where can i buy mobil1 fully synth at a good price? yung sa kotse.com ba do they still sell it?
are there other available grades aside from 0w-40?
i still go tor havoline energy....
the mitsubishi fully synthetic is also good, mahal nga lang.
For me, sinubukan ko yung Citgo 10W-30. Thogh mineral based sya pero mataas ang API certfication nya API-SL at meets ILSAC GF3 so energy conserving din. Ang maganda pa dyan, it only costs Php 63.95/qt sa Price Smart! Meron ding available na 20W-50 and 10W-40. It's up to you kung ano ang gusto nyo. But for me, may tinipid sa gas and lumakas ng konti ang hatak ng Revo ko.
We just had our accord tuned up (sa casa). Used Castrol GTX with synthetic guard 20W50, switched from LiquiMoly 20W50 din from autoxer.
The car, strangely, feels a bit slower, and slower revving. Does this make sense? Bat naging parang mas mabagal and parang mas malakas pa sa gas nung nagpatune up ako.
this is the castrol i got.

Shell Helix Ultra. Resists heat soaking so well, oil temp doesn't rise too high on the track as fast as other oils, keeps hydraulic lifters really quiet too.
Pero I still change oil at 5,000km (more or less). Mas mura parin 3.5k++ kumpara sa new engine or overhaul.
I also use Shell Helix Plus Semi-Synthetic (blue). I change oil every 6 mos or 5000 kms.
I also install original oil filter (honda) bought at casa. I use engine oil flush (I read somewhere that this is bad for the engine), but I don't put in any additives.
pwede ba yung Havoline Energy / Havoline Formula sa diesel engine?... im using Mobil Delvac
updated 05/30/03
sir marwen pwede po...API rating niya is API-SJ and ACEA A1-98, B1-98(API-SL for Energy Synthetic and the latest Formula)
The Amerian Petroleum Institute (API) has established a series of Service Classifications for engine oils used for service fill of gasoline engine. These are the "S" categories, generally accepted as being for service station or spark ignition applications. Each service category is defined by a set of engine tests. Each engine test is run under stringent conditions, and engine components are examined at the end of the test and rated. Minimum pass requirements are set for each test requirement.

Q:Can I use Havoline Energy in my diesel engine car, 4-wheel drive etc in order to reduce my fuel bill?
A:The answer to this is a qualified yes. Havoline Energy meets ACEA B1, a European automotive industry specification which defines fuel efficient engine oils for light duty (ie not truck, bus etc) diesel engines. So if your owner’s manual calls for an oil meeting ACEA B1, or allows the use of low viscosity engine oils then you may certainly choose to use Havoline Energy. However, if you live in a part of the world where diesel fuel sulfur is still relatively high (e.g. parts of Africa and the Middle-East) then you may need to use a shortened drain interval in comparison with diesel engine oils specifically developed for use with moderate to high sulfur content fuels.
salamat po sir..hmmm kala ko pwede... he.he... tipid kasi sa gas sabi nyo ... anyways.. sino maka pag testify ng diesel engine oil effect nya less consumption ng fuel... kasi yung mobil delvac na ginamit ko ngayon the same pa rin yung fuel consumption ko 7.3 km/l sa city tapos 8 to 9 sa highway ... 4D56 Intercooler turbo pala yung engine.. exempt nyo na lang yung synthetic mahal kasi eh... mineral oil lang..
ako dati delo 500 multi but rimula x has now a higher rating so i tried rimula x sa starex, ok naman cia.Originally Posted by phillipogi

just like wat u said "pain is temporary ..... glory is forever! parang pagbili din ng FULLY SYNTHETICS! hehehe
ok kaya din kaya yung mga engine oil bought sa casa? php90/l(php320+/4l) lang yung mineral-based oil ng mitsubishi(api sj rating). may magiging masamang effect kaya kung gagamitin yung engine oil from mitsu sa toyota car or vise-versa?
kung iko-compare naman with well-known brands, malaki kaya ang difference na nai-o-offer na protection ng well-known brand(engine oil) as compared dun sa engine oil bought sa casa?
