I can hear tiny rattling sounds from my FD's engine lalo na kapag acceleration. It's like a bicycle kadena hehe. pero masyadong pino at mahina lang. you can't hear it of you won't look for it. but kapag nasa asphalt ka maririnig mo talaga kapag mag accelerate ka gradually. ok naman ang power ng engine, tsaka hindi naman madalas nangyayari,. pero meron rin times na kapag full stop ka, pag tapak mo ng gas pedal may "TOK!" kang maririnig sa engine. is this engine knocking?

naremember ko lang kasi dati dito sa tsikot meron rin thread about engine knocking ng vios ba yun or ano, baka kasi meron nang issue ating fuel quality? im just using unleaded. baka bumababa na quality ng fuel natin sa pinas?

Been using Shell Unleaded for my 2004 Altis since I got it 2nd hand last year. No fuel knocking problems encountered so far. I suggest filling up with premium gas next time you gas up and observe. If the problem goes away, your engine is acting up on lower octane rating fuel.

Like tiny ball bearings contained in a tin can and shake it up and down....

the noise that you have been hearing is actually valve tappet noise. this could be due either to low octane fuel, water contaminant on fuel or valve tappet out of proper clearance. this occurs duiring acceleration. try using clean fuel with higher octane rating (95-97) or have your valve tappet clearance adjusted to correct specification...

Sir, if it is valve clearance how much would it cost? Idea lang para hindi mataga... alam mo na...

for a Civic FD, since it is still a relatively new car kahit papaano, hindi pa siguro kailangan ng valve tappet adjusments diyan.

Civic FD's are VVT I assume so Ignition Timing is controlled by a computer. maybe a reset? I don't know too since I don't own any VVT cars hehe. puro old school cars meron ako.

    suy,

ano nga ba makina mo brad?

as per my info, hindi na kailangan iadjust ang mga automatic lash adjuster.

just run them for 30 mins with 5 sec cycling to about 3k rpm to bleed the air out of the engine oil.

but if the mechanical valve mechanism, you may diy given the required tools. madali lang yun kung tutuusin.

the "tok" sound if it sounds only once every acceleration, better check your driveline. or engine mounts.

but if "tok" sound all throughout, check valve train system.

sana nakatulong. and i'm a little bit of outdated pagdating sa mga new engines. been tinkering all the time with old school engines esp diesels

Ano Ba Talaga Ang Tunog Ng Engine Knock?
