mas maganda ba yung cone type na filter na sa ibabaw lang yung butas tapos metal yung sides? or mas ok yung filter yung sides?
I'm thinking kasi kung smaller yung surface area nung filter itself, with all other things being equal, more air per square inch yung dadaan sa filter kung maliit yung surface area compared to a filter with a bigger surface area.
Per nagagandahan ako dun sa metal yung sides. :D di kaya mas mahirap linisin to compared to the exposed cone type filter?
BTW, I'm talking about simota filters.

Adaptor is already included in the filter for k&N. 3500 din price nyan. Basta 3" ang intake tube mo ha...
SIMOTA filters are not recomended for cleaning... disposable e2. You can try cleaning it with the cleaning solution pero mag hihimulmul (tama ba?) yun threads and may cause it to be sucked in by the engine intake. Ok din simota pero disposable... Yun metal sa sides nya ang purpose is for the air to be colder daw, parangshield sya o heatsink, pero sa init sa pinas mainit pa din yun! kaya K&N proposes the users to put a tube from teh front bumper w/c ends near the air filter para malamig yun air. (same principle sa intercoolers)

About the gain, you will gain a max of 10% power and at least 5% sa fuel economy. You will notice na tatahimik konti exhaust mo coz of free flow air sa engine. Estimate ko lang e2 sa personal use ko sa Accord 2.0 am not sure if it has the same effect sa other engine brands... More air means more power to burn the Fuel, More air means all the fuels getting inside the combustion chamber are well burned up.
Remeber yun straw?
2 straws, one inside a bottle of VODKA the other asa air. If you sipped on the 2 straws * the same time mas madami kang masisipsip na air but if you close the straw getting air then you will get more of the vodka(sarraaaapp) hehehe... w/c means more fuel consumption. HIK!*
