guys, i have a k&n filter and it's due for cleaning. k&n recommends that i use the filter cleaner and recharger to clean it because the recharger traps the dirt after cleaning it. is it true that i'll destroy the filter element if i use soap and water to clean it? do you guys know any other way/means to clean this without buying k&n's filter cleaner and recharger? thanks!

sayang k&n mo if you don't use the cleaner. it's cheap and it will last a couple of years naman (maybe 5-6 cleanings) so it's worth it to purchase.

Oo nga, myroon po ba yan dito? I remember reading a full test comparison of famous filters. and Apexi was the best, then there were other brands. then K&n, and then Simota was among the last...

i'm just curious, during these hot, sticky summer days, are the advantages of those after market filters being negated by the extreme heat we are experiencing?

anyone here tried K&N open type on diesel engines? was wondering if it will add up noise (specifically isuzu engine)...although isuzu's are noisy by nature...

Good day !!! They do add a little more bass to the engine sound and they add up to fuel efficiency and the vehicle picks up a little faster especially from 1st to 2nd gear. I'm using a simota on my 97 hilander. The intake tube is the one BLADE is selling for 95-97 corollas. Had it installed since early last year and have'nt had any problem with it, except for cleaning.
