Here's the situation guys. I usually fill up using 95 ron fuel since this is the specified rating for 1.6 altis. Last fill up I decided to use 93 ron since its cheaper. Unfortunately this morning, I felt some engine choke when I backed out our garage. After that wala na ulit.

I'm planning to refill with 95 ron next time but I still have a 1/2 tank full. Is it okay to wait and empty the tank or should I mix it up with 98 ron to compensate for the low octane?

Wala bang masisira kung hintayin ko low fuel then fill up with 95 ron or dapat agapan ko na?

    TIA

Bro saan ba ang loc mo? wala yata kasing avail na 98 octane dito sa pinas, di ako sure kung hinaluaan mo ng 98RON ma compensate na nito ang 93RON, ang alam ko ang mga bagong sasakyan meron knock sensor and auto adjust ito if ma sense nito ang knocking. ang better drain mo na lang and palit ng proper fuel for peace of mind.

Hi Raine, I think Blaze is 98ron? or is it 97? Anyway, I've decided to just wait couple of days more before refiling with 95ron. Sayang naman talaga kung idrain lang. No chocking experienced this morning naman. Baka nagkataon lang kahapon.

    Thanks.

Bro, just wait for the 93 RON fuel to be consumed before filling it up again with 95 RON.

The *chocking* experience might be the ECU adjusting to the 93 RON... it'll either retard/advance the timing to cope with the 93 RON fuel. You might experience some power loss and/or a drop in your fuel economy while using 93 RON.

Just continue using whatever fuel is needed for your vehicle... in your case... the VVTi needs 95 RON since it has a higher compression.

M2, wala naman kaya masisira. In this case, will the engine adjust again once I use 95 ron again?

Kung one tankful lang naman... wala.

Nagawa ko na yan before... nung binigyan ako ng fuel allowance na 93 RON lang (stupid gas station... I proposed to pay for the difference between the regular unleaded & XCS... hindi daw pwede).

Yup... the engine will adjust again when you start using 95 RON.

sa experience ko naman sa city sa office namin wala naman problema kung shift ka to another different kind of octane level. its still fuel.

magkakaproblema lang if diesel ang ilalagay.

That is because the City/Jazz only needs 93 RON to run. So using 95 RON is just a waste of money.

It's a different matter with Djerms since his ride needs 95 RON fuel.

Na obserbahan ko din yan sa kotse ko, Sentra GS 05. When I used 93 octane pumangit yung FC niya and ang hatak di maganda. Parang mas magastos pa nung gumamit ako ng 93 octane dahil mas malakas consumption nung Sentra. When I shift back to 95 (Caltex Gold or XCS) ramdam ko pagkakaiba nung andar at performance ng makina.

On our 1.6E A/T ZZ, I only use ordinary unleaded fuel. Kadalasan Caltex silver ang gamit ko. Sa Shell, unleaded lang. No problems naman. I have checked the manual, pag nasa Thailand, kailangna ay 95 RON sa ibang lugar 91 RON yata ang minimum. SO 93 is OK lang talaga. BTW, we get 12 to 13 Km per liter, mixed hi-way and city.

    Meledson,

Ano kaya difference ng thailand zz from the rest? AFAIK, pareho lang engine components eh. Almost everything came from thailand.

BTW, price difference is almost 2 PHP

Just wait for the 93 to burn off. so you can have a tank of almost "pure" 95 Octane.

Don't mix Blaze in. It may be rated at 96 Octane, but from testing and experience, it really isn't as high-octane as V-Power... it's most likely a 92 or 93 base gasoline spiked with octane booster. I used to use it, but after tuning, I experienced power-loss when using it compared to V-Power. Ask GH... gained 8 hp from switching from Blaze to V-Power.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Thanks for the Tips Niky. Based on experience mas malakas nga ang V-power but it gives me low fuel mileage din compared to XCS. Hehe.

this is the reason why i also use 93 ron on our altis 1.6e mt. so far, wala naman akong problem na encounter. i also use 95 ron (caltex gold) sa altis namin nung 30cents lang difference ng gold sa silver. pero mga 2 weeks ago ang taas na ng difference ng price nila kaya ngayon balik 93 ron na naman ako.

    niky,

na try ko rin yan .. parang ordinary unleaded lang din ang blaze .. nag try ako kasi nakalagy 96 octane rating .. turns out na hindi naman .. so balik v-power ako even if 95 lang octane rating nito ..

    meledson, 12-13 1.6 altis mo? ako i think 7-8 lang ata from our 1.8 1zzfe ..

Talaga youre gettig better FC sa V-Power? Ako naman baliktad. Teka how much na ba ang V-power ngayon? P49 petot na ang blaze eh.

Slight OT: Naniniwala ba kayo dun sa cleaning properties daw ng XCS? ang V-power ba meron nito?

From 93 octane back to 95 ron
