Good Evening po...im planning to buy a Toyota Starlet 1981 2dr...
I saw one already...makinis..maganda status ng kaha..loob labas...but it came to my surprise...13t-U ang engine nya...
Actually I have no idea about this engine coz im expecting na its either 3k/4k/5k or 7k or 4age mga makina usually nilalagay sa mga cute na cute na starlets...
I was wanderin kung ok ba itong makina na to for a starlet?
    How about the fuel consumption?
    Maintenance Parts?

Sana matulungan nyo ako mga pogi....

    tsalamat po..

bro magkano mo makukuha yang starlet? im hoping to get a kit car again one of these days. meron akong ganyan dati na nasalpakan namin ng 18rg eh. that was a blast :D

anyhow, 13T was one of the staple toyota engines during the 80s/early 90s along with the 3/4/5/7k lineup. iirc, its an 1800cc pushrod carb fed engine with centrally located plugs. parts should not be a problem still. no idea about gas consumption though but if its gonna power a starlet then it should be pretty quick too

in bone stock form, mas malakas ang 13T sa 4K/5K. una mas mataas displacement nya eh, mas mataas agad ang hp and torque.
mabigat nga lang ng onti pero ok lang yun. pede ka nmn mag adjust sa final drive mo kung pang sprint ang gusto mo, or kung plan mo ipang slalom. and 50k is not a bad price. naiinggit tuloy ako sayo, namimiss ko na yung starlet ko

Kapatid, oks ang makina na yan for the Starlet. Fuel consumption is ok. AFAIK, mga 95-97HP yang engine na yan, which is enough to propel the Starlet. Parts wise, hinde ka (pa) gaano mahihirapan.

Pa gusto mong gawing pocket rocket yang Starlet, palitan mo yung 13T-U ng either 18R-G or 2TG (both from Toyota).

kung ang nakamatch diyan ay 5speed tranny...panalo....sabi nga e "kailangan pa bang imemorize yan!!!"

anyway, what you should worry actually is the extent of rust ng oto...my KP was sariwa sa labas but the rust inside was damn too bad....inabot ako ng more than P20k sa body repair wala pa ang paint...mas mahal pa sa pagkakabili ko sa oto.

3/4/5 k engines are good if you would not load any air conditioning. If you do, there is much resistance when accelerating from 0 km per hr. A t series engine packs a lot of torque even if you install a dual air con.
