reasons why battery does not charge, or does not hold charge..:
1. alternator problem. the regulator is also in the alternator housing. have the alternator checked by a competent checker. OR, your alternator is normal, but its rating is simply too small.. (baka napalitan yan ng smaller rating nang hindi mo alam... heh heh)
2. poor electrical connections.
3. you have way too many appliances running in your vehicle.. lights, aircon, toys, audio system, etc.
4. your battery is dying.either it is old, or it is defective (in which case, you may have a new battery coming.. for free!).. this can easily be checked by a competent checker.
5. you have a current leak! this can be checked by a competent checker.
