yes it can be tampered.although its easier to spot a manipulated analog odometer than a digital. in digital odos you can only know if its tampered is if you hit a certain mileage like from 9k to 10k, all of a sudden it turns 20 or 30k. what they do is short the lcd readings. its actually easier to tamper a digital than an analog odometer if you have the equipment.
