I finally found someone selling the Optima batteries! I thought it was going to be a good deal at Php 8,000.00 (last price I got quoted.. years ago maybe decade???) Nagulat ako sa price, it is now being retailed above Php 16,000.00!

I don't mean to be rational, but primary applications are: starting the engine, powering the sound sytem, electrical winch and who knows, maybe a portable fridge! Plus the fact that it can sustain the vibration and jarring from offroad use.

Ang tanong... bibilhin ko na ba? O pag tyagaan ko na lang magpalit every 1-2 years with local brands?

I've heard someone use this in his offroad toy for 3 years and it is still working. Not even a sign of wear.

Wala akong pambili nito.. suntok sa buwan lang kung sakali... pautang naman o!

Mas maganda pang mag-dual battery system ka na lang siguro using cheaper batteries...just my opinion

Ang kaso wala na akong extra space para sa isa pang battery. The space that is allocated for the extra battery has been filled up already. Sabagay, mas mura nga yata yung dual battery management system.

Ilibing mo na lang extra battery under the engine compartment (ala RAV4) or find somewhere between the frame rails sa ilalmi where you can put a battery box.

It will allow you to run more electrical stuff at any given time and to keep your fridge running even when the engine is off without fear of draining the main battery.

The isolator/control unit will also take care of keeping both batteries charged.

Gwabe! Kung 16k ang cost, i'd rather replace my batts every 6 months for the next three years! Of course, that's just me.

he!he!16K for a battery. grabe yun ha. first time ako nakarinig ng price sa battery na ganun kataas. Bro saan gawa yun? If you have the extra moolah why not, di mo malalaman kung matindi nga yan kung hindi mo gagamitin. I think yung dual battery is a better alternative. I have on my BigHorn coz naka-install yung option when I bought it. Yung lugar lang nga. I think mas better coz hiwalay for all the nakakainggit na accessories that you have. For the local brands 4K na yung top of the line di ba?(3SM)? Another project on the way!!

from what I know, once the engine starts both batteries work then once turned off, you have the option to use only one. My dad fixed up our blazer this way so that the main battery for engine starting wont be discharged while camping, lighting and having the radio played all night. :D
