the only advantage for me is that it's a sealed battery. you can mount it which ever way you want even upside down. for 16 thou, I rather keep my vehicle upright.

What's the warranty on Optima batt?
Consider the alternative, AC Delco at P3.6k with 2 yr Replacement warranty. For about the same cost, you change every 2yrs for the next 8yrs but have a replacement warranty for peace of mind.
Think Optima distb is the same as Redline oil dealer.

The 34/78 is the new model number. I think this was used to be the 850 model too. Same top and side terminals.

Could you ask your friend if he has the specific size Yellow Top or Red Top for a Nissan Safari and can they customize brackets? Kindly PM your contact or their contact numbers. Thanks.

EDIT: I seem to notice that Optima has reverse polarity versus our local brands. As far as I can remember our local brands have positive terminal on the right not on the left as per attached pic.

For 8k, I'd say go for it as long as may warranty. I have a friend who used a red top and lasted for 5 years.

Some(car audio enthusiasts) also use the yellow top as the main battery even if optima recommends the red top. You may use it basta make di ka ma-diskargado.

    Interstate batteries are also good.

pwede naman daw upside down yan, so upside down mo nalang ikabit para di ka na mag extend ng cable.

yung frontier, reverse polarity din ang batts.

Iba ang Optima na primarily for starting lang and iba din ang model na designed for powering stuff. Sorry I don't know which is which. Nabasa ko lang sa Montero Forums nung diniscuss nila in detail ang construction and engineering ng Optimas. hehehehe.

Ah sa G. Masangkay yan sa Sta. Cruz near Recto. It's basically a one way street coming from Bambang St. passing Recto towards the end street which I forgot the name. Malapit na yan kina UE Auto Supply.

If you're coming from Legarda via Recto, turn left at Masangkay St. 4th stop light from Avenida/Rizal Ave.

xox::: Salamat, I'll try to contact them on Monday. Any name that I need to look for para may referral discount?

EDIT: Btw, parking there can really be a hassle. Try to look for a pay parking lot. And walk to the store.

So the final question; Is the 8,500 Optima red top battery worth its value? I've heard some people use it for 3 years with winch pulling and still works upto now.

If you have extra money why not? Get the red top. The yellow top has a faster charge rate and faster release of energy(good for audio) but the downside is you can't afford to let the batery die.

With the red top, it was built so that you can recharge anytime the battery dies and this won't affect the life span of the abttery.

I just checked their office, with Red and Yellow Top in stocks. Kaso yung Red Top reverse polarity, tama nga hinala ko. Pwede naman baliktarin ang mount ng battery. Ang ayaw ko lang masyadong batak na mga wirings. Not enough looms to spare for engine vibrations.

Sayang, sakto na sana yung 34/78 Red Top, di lang umubra sa polarities. Meron silang yellow Top which has the correct polarity side that I need, pang Civic models daw kadalasan kinakabit, specs are almost the same as 1SMF, mataas lang ng ilang inches. Di naman pwede sa battery console ko maliit, kundi kakalog-kalog.
