February 21st, 2012 05:55 PM #1my car is Honda 1.8 FD manual.
There are times na ayaw mag crank ng oto ko. walang redondo, as if walang kuryente..click sound lang as if disconnected yung battery.
weird thing is, after trying again (after a few seconds /or another minute) eh ok na sya..mag normal start na sya na parang walang sira.
yung crank problem is madalang lang mangyari dati baka once a month lang..kaya lang ngayon parang dumadalas na..
parang almost every week eh nangyayari na..
weird kasi im sure hindi battery or starter problem kasi dapat di sya mag i-start at all kung sira yung isa..
nag i-start naman na parang walang nangyari.
ano kaya possible cause ng intermittent cranking problem ko?

February 21st, 2012 06:37 PM #2Chief migs26,
Try checking the following:
1. Starter Relay - It may already be faulty. But in my case, though it may sound funny and weird, a colony of ants have migrated causing the relay to fail.
2. Starter Solenoid - It may also be faulty.
3. Starter Brush - May already be worn-out, though per the age of your car, it may seemed too early to be worn-out. Checking or Taking a good look will have you a piece of mind.
Better have your car checked by a competent technician, though.
Thanks

February 22nd, 2012 09:13 AM #4check mo sir yung battery terminal kung loose na yung cable. try mo i-wiggle yung cable. pag umikot yan - that't the cause.
If it's tight, then malamang sa starter ang problema.

Main relay ang problema nyan!
Ganun din ang nangyari sa honda civic ko before and very few honda's got common problem with this relay.
Here's the link to find the relay and which one are you going to resolder on pcb to sort the problem out. Honda Civic main relay Location
