Depende sa age ng battery mo...kung within 2years pa lang yan most probably pwede pa yan. Anyway the battery charging station would know naman kung pwede pa yan meron silang parang meter to test if it is ok pa. Nun sinauna pa they still test it with Hydrometer like testing for those not sealed type ngaun medyo hitec na.

discharged battery? we used to start the car by push-starting it. if you have a battery charger, fast-charging for 5-10 minutes may be enough to have the car started. there is no need to charge the battery afterward. in modern cars, 30 minutes of normal daytime use afterwards, will adequately charge the battery. if the battery discharges again for no apparent reason, have the battery and the charging system checked.
nowadays, i use maintenance-free batteries. in our experience, we never had to maintain them until they naturally die after 24 months or more. also, there is no need to protect the overhead metal..

I'm using Motolite Gold 2SM maintenance free battery. Sabi ng electrician sa akin to have it charge periodically to prolong the life of your battery.

    OT:

Which battery typically last longer, a maintenance free battery? or the conventional electrolyte battery. TIA.

What for? The battery is charged by the alternator when you use your car. As long as you drive for around 30 mins or longer, your battery should be fully charged. This is assuming you dont drain your battery by listening to your radio or sound system with the engine off.
