Need your advise guys. I have a honda city 2004 model. Nabaha ako nung friday. Umilaw yung malfunction indicator lamp. i brought it to the casa the ff day. I found out today that the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. 12k daw parts plus labor.

Should I go through with it? or shoud i pull it out and try other repair shops?

Hoping for your replies. Thank you.

Can i have this replaced outside service centers? say rapide or serviteK? can i buy the sensor in banawe where it will be much cheaper? or it would be safer to have it replaced in the casa since its an electronic item?

located ang oxygen sensor sa tanbutso ng car. kahit ikaw kaya mong palitan yon if 100% na sira yung oxygen sensor and walang problema sa wiring. alamin mo lang kung aling oxygen sensor yung papalitan? kung bank 1 sensor 1 ba or bank 1 sensor 2. sa mga american car na V8 4 pieces ang oxygen sensor sa mga 4 cylinder sometimes 1 minsan 2. sa mga american car like GM and Ford walang effect yung oxygen sensor sa peformance ng engine kahit naka-cancel na, d ko lang alam sa honda. oxygen sensor ang pinagkukunan ng reference signal ng computer para madetect kung good or bad ang emission.

There are two (on 4 cyl) - one before, and one after catalytic converter. You need a special socket to replace it but first I suggest you determine which one is bad by checking the code number.
Oh, those parts store casa guy that tell you that an O2 sensor is bad perhaps never mention that there are more than one. Don't get me started! With that 12 grand price tag plus labor is way, way, way too much beyond my expectation, even though Im not not really familiar about pricing in the philippines...this is absurb.

mahal ang o2 sensor. i've checked out its price here. i dont know for honda, but for mitsu lancer its 9k. as for the labor of around 3k, mahal sya para sa labor.

since nasa dealer ka na ipa erase mo muna at drive mo for few days

baka bumalik sa normal ang sensor

may mga universal sensors na puwede mong subukan kung gusto mo

    baka mag work

One way of reviving O2 sensor is to run your car in a H-way for about an hour at cruising speed.

I read in the manual that if you run it further, it might just cause more damage. So i immediately went to the casa.

The honda officer said that the oxygen sensor costs 10.3k, while the labor cost 1500.

Well, i guess, i just have to close my eyes and shell out the amount because i have no choice.

I had it replaced already sa kasa.
Actually, i called speedyfix, the guy that i talked to told me to have it replaced/repaired sa kasa na lang. So there.

Anwy, i noticed na parang humina arangkada ng kotse ko.
Ganon ba tlaga pag nabaha? Do I need to have it tuned up again?

    Thanks.

you could have tried to source a o2 sensor that has the same number of wires and same socket. but if you don't want to do that ok na yung price in casa.

my bosch o2 sensor for my car cost less than 10k, and oem one would have cost around 15. so pwede na yun.

btw, who did you talk to in the shop?
