    Mas ok ata pag masira *before* the warranty period is up.

    Kakasira lang ng Motolite Gold namin sa Everest. Lasted 15 months. Replaced under warranty, but no warranty extension na (replacement unit warrantied up to the original's 21 months lang).
    Assuming the replacement unit also lasts 15 months then we get 30 months use of battery, notwithstanding the hassle of having the car down for two days (store took back the original battery for a day's testing before replacing it).

    Hi..

    Simple lang..

    GS is imported and enhanced with Japan Technology.. Motolite is local..

    We should compare low maintenance vs low maintenance..
    and compare maintenance free vs maintenance free..

    Mayroon din GS Tropical Maintenance Free.. Japan Tech din..

    Here's their worldwide website for your consideration of GS Battery :

    http://www.gs-yuasa.com/jp/index.asp (choose English version on right top)

    Suggestion lang.. dont buy "pangalan".. buy the "technology".. then u will feel no regret at all.. =).

    Best Regards.

    Low maintenance and No-maintenance have different class, maganda i-compare yung same number of plates para patas.

    GS 3SM ang stock naka salpak ngayon sa 10 month old Montero and ngayon ko pa lang masusubukan ang tagal ng GS na de-tubig (low maintenance).

    But IMO malaking factor sa comparison kung naka condition ang alternator, di overloaded sa accessories and kung di abused ang aircon - pirming naka-todo.

    I always check ang preferred those with the most number of plates on each row (11 plates the better) Dun ka lamang pagdating sa reserved power.

    Yap.. i agree.. that's one way to choose the best battery for our lovely car.. GS 2SMF mayroon 13-15 plates per cell..

    Mayroon GS 3SMF hanggang 15-17 plates per cell..
    Sa ibang battery minsan 9 minsan 10 plates lang..

    More plates more power ! I definitely agree.

    Regards.

    Been hearing GS has more plates, but we can't find sites that says about how many plates does this product has?

    For comparisson:

    Motolite Enduro has 9 Plates and has 15 months warranty
    Motolite Gold has 11 Plates and has 21 months warranty
    Motolite Excel has 13 Plates and has 24 months warranty

    So anyone knows how many Plates GS has? and warranty coverage?

    sir eto po for your reference info about how many plates GS Battery has:

    http://www.gs.astra.co.id/isi_product_mobil.htm

    this is from an indonesian site since yung mga GS Battery na dumadating dito sa Philippines are from Indonesia.

    2SM 48D26L Maintenance Free 15 Months Warranty

    Plates Per Cell = 9
    Capacity = 50AH/5HR

    2SM 55D26L Maintenance Free 20 Months Warranty

    Plates Per Cell = 11
    Capacity = 60AH/5HR

    2SM 65D26L Maintenance Free 24 Months Warranty

    Plates Per Cell = 13
    Capacity = 65AH/5HR

    i made a research about Motolite batteries to obtain the specifications of the battery but can't find it even on their corporate website.

    No, Motolite being local is not a bad thing as it is.

    Kung yan ang mentality ng mga pinoy, babagsak lahat ng industry dito. Matutuwa ang mga foreigners nyan. That's decades of colonialism at work. It's actually a brilliant economic war tool. Pag na-colonize at na-dumb down mo na ang mga tao, they will self-destruct. Afterwards, here you go cheerfully stuffing their mouths with your supposedly superior products like a Vulture.

    Maganda naman ang products ng Motolite and we've always used Motolite Gold. The last one worked well for 5years. Meron din dito na Motolite Enduro and it still works after 4yrs. Since laging Bosch ang binibili namin for our construction equipment/tool needs, I just wanted to try Bosch batteries kaya ako bumili nun.

    Trying out foreign brands is okay but saying that our local products suck is another matter. I would rather buy a locally made product than those na galing China or SE Asia whenever possible. Mas matino di hamak ang craftsmanship ng mga pinoy.

    Also, kung Japan Technology ang GS, ibig sabihin, di yan gawa sa Japan. It's probably made in China lang kaya kailangan pa sabihin na Japan tech.
