Battery or Alternator problem?

One day, bigla nalang walang power yung battery ko, hindi nag start / redondo.
so gumamit kami ng ibang batt to start, ok naman, changed it to the other batt para ma charge, then tried to start it pero wala nanaman, hindi nag charge yung battery ko.

Hindi ba pag alternator prob, pag inalis yung isang terminal sa batt while engine is running, mamamatay makina? pero this time hinde eh.

Could this be batt problem na? basically hindi nag cha-charge eh, pero less than a year palang batt ko.

I'll go to electrician within this week, if my suggestions po kayo thanks sa input.

kung may volt meter ka, pwede mo itest yung voltage habang running yung engine mo kung enough ba yung voltage na chinacharge sa battery.
kung enough naman, baka hindi na nakakaretain ng charge yung battery mo.

Hindi kumakarga ang alternator mo.

If low output ang Alternator dahil sa worn brush, intermittent exciter and regulator, aandar pa rin dahil ang injection pump switch kahit 7 volts ay naka-on na. Tsek mo na rin ang glowplugs(pero wala kamo redondo so eliminated na ito). Sa gasoline lang yung namamatay kapag tinanggal battery.

Best is to use Voltmeter or bring vehicle to batt shop, may pang test sila kung tama ang charging voltage ng alternator.

the legitimate battery store will check the battery and auto charging system for free.

Use a multimeter, which you can buy from cd-r king from Php 120-300, to check the voltage reading of the battery when:

a.) with battery left unused or vehicle unstarted overnight (the whole night). Healthy batteries read around 12.4 (slight old) to 12.6V (newer)

b.) Perform step A first before doing this and take note of reading from Step A. Now Start the vehicle and let it idle. Now check the voltage readings. If your alternator is charging the battery correctly, the volt readings should be of greater value compared when the vehicle was in Step A. Readings of about 13.6-13.75 v is normal. Over 14V is overcharging which is bad as well.

Based sa experience ko sir, pag alternator problem kadalasan may maririnig kang noise inside the engine hood may slippage kasi kaya hindi kumakarga ng kuryente sa baterya. Kung wala ka naman narinig na unusual sound sa engine hood prior to this most probably battery problem na yan.

i have had alternator problem 3 times already. first time, a wire got loose. the second time, bearing problem resulted in loose pulley syndrome. both times, no sound was heard. the third instance, the belt broke and i heard a thud of the belt slipping away. this was followed by loss of power steering. i did not notice any alternator noise as i was too busy fighting the steering wheel...

Kadalasan sira nyan yung voltage regulator kasi mga bgo ngayon nka brushless n mga alternator.

I jumpstarted my car and went to the nearest auto shop.
tinest nila yung batt and alternator, ok naman daw, may charge at nagcha-charge.
in-off ko engine(to show the problem is), then tried to start it again, hindi nag crank / redondo.
sabi ng electrician is starter na daw may sira, nilinisan and nagpalit lang ng carbon, ok na ulit. (P450 labor, P250 1set carbon)

funny thing is nung ginamitan ko ng ibang batt the first time hindi nag start, ok naman, kaya akala ko batt/alternator prob. Hays.

if ayaw mag-start, dapat talaga kasama sa check list ang starter dahil ito lang ang job nito eh.. to start the engine.

did the starter engage, i.e., did the starter solenoid function? this solenoid is more sensitive to low batt than the brushes...
sometimes, the solenoid gives warning signs before it completely bogs down..

Nagpalit sya dati ng battery at nag crank, so he assumes not a starter problem.. Turns out, intermittent starting due to worn brush of starter. Anyway, doon din talaga direction ituturo ng mekaniko(ignition/ starting system) kung na-test na OK ang battery & charging system.

Sirs goodmorning po. Our ride is a 2009 MS. For the past 2 days hirap siya mag start. Nung unang araw, nagpajump start ako sa vios. Nung second day, nagpajump start ako sa fortuner pero ayaw parin so we decided to switch batts para maistart ko lang si MS. I also checked the battery voltage and cleaned the contacts and had a shop assess it. Nagkakarga naman si alternator. The shop gave me a warranty sa battery namin and for the meantime gave us a service battery which upon connecting, nag 1click start si MS.

Last night, coming from a drive using the service battery, kapag pinatay ko engine and let it sit for a couple of minutes (5mins) and try to start it again, ayaw na mag start. Mag redondo lang siya and after a few tries, mag click nalang. Called my dad to jump start it and after 5 mins nag start na siya. This morning, i checked the battery wires and its warm to touch. Im somewhat sure that something is draining the battery. All electricals are original pa.

Ano po possible issues nito sir?

Yung alternator po ba naka connect palagi sa battery? Yung starter kasi mag coconnect lang siya kapag nag ignition ka. Kapag nag run na engine, mag disconnect na siya.

Nung first time po nangyari na ayaw niya mag start, nasa covered parking lot po ako and dry naman po yung car.

the alternator is always connected, the output terminal BAT is connected directly to the battery positive through the highest rating fuse in a car. the other wire/s are connected but are interrupted or connected by the ignition switch. if the alternator brushes are worn out, the carbon dust accumulates inside the alternator and is a possible cause for an internal unintentional connection to ground.
