when starting, tick sound only, no crank

hi, normally nagi-start ng maayos ang sasakyan ko. pero minsan lang mangyari ito. sobrang bihira talaga pero bothered ako. minsan tick sound lang at walang redondo, pero on the 2nd try nagi-start naman ng maayos.

Things done:
1. checked the battery terminals. ok at mahigpit parin.
2. checked the battery with volt meter. 12.7V(engine off), 14.4(engine on). So ok ang battery and alternator.

I'm assuming its the starter solenoid has carbon deposit and neesds to be cleaned???. need inputs. Thanks.

that's exactly what the mechanics told me.

what i did was to replace the stock starter w/ a surplus reduction starter. no more problems whatsoever. ganda pa ng tunog pag mag-start!

bro baludoy, magkano kuha mo sa reduction starter at saan ka nakabili?
plano ko muna ipalinis starter ko. pag di nawala ang problema I might do what you did.

maganda nga tumunog and mabilis ang ikot kaya madali umistart...
got it for 1.5k from an HCP'er... from papa Rod Zabala na taga Pampanga...

good am sa lahat, makisingit lang po, ganun din kasi naging problema sa hilander ko, after lumusung sa baha, nag cli-click lang pag start, pinatingin ko sa "along-the-road" auto-electrical shop, and sabi nila, pudpud na raw ang contact points ng solenoid. so, kumahoy sila ng contact points ng junk starter at linipat sa unit ko. okey naman for the first few days, ngayon, balik na naman ang problema. am planning to replace the solenoid, ang tanong ko po ay,may available ba na solenoid repair kit? kung buong starter assy ba ang papalitan ko, ay standard size ba ang mounting nito? mga magkano ba ang repair kit kung sakali? salamat po.
