July 17th, 2003 12:56 AM #1Recently, itinirik ako ng aking old reliable Lancer Boxtype sa gitna ng South Luzon Expressway, the culprit: dead battery!!! Pina-check ko sa nearest Petron station then they said that the alternator is no longer charging that's why my battery was drained. So go ako sa aking trusted electrician and then they changed the IC assembly of my alternator and my old reliable Lancer Boxtype runs again but recently i discovered that pag gabi when lahat nakabukas (headlights, a/c, sound system) pag bumusina ako, PAOS!!! Pag umaga naman ok lang malakas siya.
Ano naman kaya ang problem ngayon? Please help.

July 17th, 2003 05:51 AM #2Wow, naging solar power.
Trying charging your batt first. ;)
Check the carb idle-up solenoid. Baka kailangang itaas yung idling para macompensate yung current load ng mga ilaw, busina, stereo, aircon, etc. ;)

Magpalagay ka ng voltmeter para sure. Pag umapak ka ng preno while at idle then bumaba ang voltage, I guess di na naayos talaga ang alternator mo. Or pwede rin ampmeter to check if your alternator is supply the correct power your vehicle needs. And from previous experience, twice ma-discharge yung battery mo and it's out. You'd have to change it for a new one.
