Yes ofcourse, alternator spins as the engine produces power. It is held by fan belts. A faulty bearing will render your alternator to spin slower which will not produce the current needed by your vehicle. This also creates screeching noise from the belt itself.

kasi pag worn out na bearing ..mawawala ka sa alignment at sasayad ang

armature sa field yoke na pwede at magiging grounded na ..

kya possible mag function ang alternator...IMO..

paano po kung yung screeching sound e pag cold start lang? then after a minute or two e wala na screech??

    bearing problem kaya yon?

Screeching sound during cold engine start indicates that your fanbelt might be too tight for cold temp. Rubbers & metals do expand due to heat. So after the engine has warmed up, sound will disappear, but it doesn't necesarily mean that your bearing is worn out. A little adjustment to loosen about a mm or two should do the trick.

Common sign of worn out alternator bearing aside from BoEinG_747's post, alternator pulley spinning slowly sometimes with stops along. Screeching sound doesn't disappear even if the engine has reached its operating temp.

    Hi Everyone,

Question lang regarding alternators. Assuming that there is an overcharging of an alternator due to, let's say an ic defect ....is there any fuse that would break to protect the electrical system of the car..Before kasi sumabog yung battery ko dahil sa overcharging. Parang walang fuse sa mga kia cars pero i was wondering sa mga honda's.

    follow up question ko:

nagpalit na ako ng alternator, ok naman kaya niya na ung system kapag tinanggal ko ung batt while engine on

    eto naman prob ko:

*kapag nag sounds ako kapag bayo ng bass parang affectado ung makina, ano kaya sanhi nito?

*drive ako sa gabi lights on, aircon on at sounds, bigla na lang namatayan (isang vez lang nangyari)

*aircon on engine on, isang rev ko tapos bitaw parang mamamatay ung engine...

*tapos kapag off ko ung engine, parang sisindi ulit siya bago mamatay

tune up na ba ito mga kapatid?
