Good day mga sir. May naka-experience na ba na after hindi nagamit yung TBZ unit for days or weeks nagiging hard starting? Yung first and second tries to start click lang and hindi nag-cra-crank. After 3rd or more try saka lang nag-s-start. My dad's 2014 TBZ LTZ unit kasi ganyan yung symptoms at first and we thought normal lang dahil bihira gamitin. Pero now ayaw na mag-start so we have it towed by a truck with flatbed and nasa casa now. The battery is fairly new and we have it tested din. They are still diagnosing kasi upon doing their checklist biglang nagstart ulit. Sabi ng Service Advisor may latest model unit na same problem and until now being diagnosed pa rin. Sa Chevy Commonwealth kami nagpapaservice and sila din nagdidiagnose nitong problem right now. Baka may naka-experience na ng same problem and maybe you can share how it was solved. Thanks in advance!

well, i almost ordered this car. buti na lang nagbasa ako ng reviews locally that is. there are some isolated cases of alternator failure daw even if the car is relatively new. good thing I read about it. it dawned to me, alternator is like a rotary motor. ang the best rotary motors are always made in Japan. so American sya, so I dont know where it got sourced out, pero alternator failure with all the bells and whistles of the TBZ, wala mahirap yan.

I don't think alternator yung problem since kapag nag-start ok naman andar and hindi tumitirik. They don't have idea yet what is the problem. My dad told me na sabi ng Chevy Commonwealth na walang problem. Eh sila nga na-witness nila na hindi nag-s-start. So my dad called Chevy Philippines. They will see daw muna kung anong ginawa ng Chevy Commonwealth before sila magpadala ng technician. Hopefully may mabuting mangyari at mahanap na yung root cause.

Park switch daw yung nagloloko pero they will observe pa. Unfortunately, out of stock daw yung planta nung sirang part sabi ng casa. Not sure how long bago sila magkaroon.

Happy yung dad ko sa assistance ng Chevy Philippines. Sa Chevy Commonwealth lang medyo disappointed dad ko on how they handled the situation. Good thing mabilis mag-action ang Chevy Philippines. Kudos!

Yung technician na pinadala nila will observe the unit pa to make sure walang ibang sira.

The Park/Brake light switch should be a very common part.

I'm part of the TB club. There isn't any alternator problem discussed between the members and some have owned their TB for 5 years with mileages exceeding 100k. The common issues are:
    A. Front bushings which are P70 each to replace. They need replacement after 3 years.
    B. Moisture in the tail lights.

I just backread so I'll add these points in:
    A. After sales is so-so. It really depends on your dealer.
    B. PMS is also dealer dependent. Some dealers are known to add options that will increase your PMS cost. My last PMS cost me in the vicinity of 4,800 I think which is for 30K. The 40K PMS is the expensive one.

Thanks for the input. Are parts still a pain or does the casa have a healthy inventory of parts? Also, which are the recomended dealers?

are you done with the all belts change out? how much if you ever did?
i guess i posted somewhere in the TBZ replacement parts.. my alternator pulley is broken at more than 90k mileage. symptoms noticed prior to change out = higher engine clatter + aircon setting from one bar to 3 bar

    I haven't changed my belts.

How much was it to replace your pulley?

Mine doesn't have climate control as I only got the LT 2wd version for daily use in the city.

halos nasa 9k pati na labor at incidental expenses bro.
nagtataka naman ako bakit yung hindi naka schedule na papalitan ay sya ang nasira. 2014 LT din ang TBZ variant ko.

Maybe it's scheduled for replacement at a higher mileage and yours broke prematurely?

my all belts change-out is completed + PMS at 95+k ODO reading

at first casa quoted me a whooping 65k pesos for both jobs (labor + material)!!!
final cost breakdown after looking closely on the quote.
    - all belts change-out (casa materials: water pump, timing belt + tensioner, idler pulley #2) = 24k++ pesos
    - pms (casa materials: FS oil, coolant) = 7.5k++ pesos (own materials from Thunder: oil/fuel/air filter, drive belt = 6.5k++ pesos)

total cost of all belts + PMS = 39k pesos
