For my Altis, I get 10 km/L (mixed driving) on both 91 and 95. The average price difference between 91 and 95 is about 1.50/L. So I save 15 cents per km on 91 compared to 95.

Relying on peso/km will not yield conclusive result since price varies every week, per gas station.

br, jut is simply saying going to 95 will be costly. this chevy sail with its higher ron requirement is a no go.. especially with the new vios.

Any updates, have you verified if 95 RON is the minimum requirement for the Sail? In China it's ≥ 92 RON.

I just noticed that in China the Toyota Yaris with dual VVTi has a 92 RON warning stuck on the fuel filler door. I think we need to check what's written on the local variants.

    for sub 900,000

95 ron and 14 steelies for 868,000 pesos for a shanghai car, its overpriced with unknown reliability! even its top variant doesnt have stability control. 0 star latin Ancap rating!

new vios has 7 airbags, stability control. and a toyota bulletproof reliability. 5star ancap rating. 878,000 is a bargain

The P868K 1.5 LT A/T's wheels might look like econo car wheel covers but those are actually alloy wheels. :D

Agree. Km/L and price variance should be the factors considered to get an apples-to-apples comparison.

As I showed above, since average FC (km/L) is the same, 95 ron turns out more expensive. Not by much, but it certainly isn't cheaper.

Now, there are some cars that benefit from 95 RON. The turbo Subarus and Civic RS come to mind. Even if the RS can run well on 91, independent dynos show about 5 hp more with 95.

But if your car has a basic NA gas engine, chances are 91 will be fine unless specified by the manufacturer in the manual.

Not to fret though, as I showed, the difference is only 15 cents per km for 95. In a year if you travel 12,000 km, that's just P1,800 which isn't even enough for a full tank.

I was actually backing you up regarding kissmets inquiry. Full tank method, Distance and km/l avg and not km/peso is the only way to get a good approximation how your car is reacting to lower RON vs higher RON.

There's no reason buying this chevy sail. Walang edge over the competition whether it's price, features, space, or etc.. ganun rin naman ibang model nila. Walang edge sa competition. Trailblazer lang na very powerful engine. Pero malakas din naman engine ng ibang ppv

i believe this says it all.
a sales consultant once said, "a new product that does not have any advantage over the current competition, is doomed to fail".
