And they have different brains (the engine), where the Chevy is more powerful, thus different personality.

And they have entirely different manufacturing plants where the Colorado is made exclusively in the new GM-Chevrolet plant in Thailand.... Thus way different assembly line, no longer sharing the same Isuzu plant like before.

And the 8-cross member concept and application is Isuzu's original, not Chevrolet

That's the 8-cross member that naturally comes with the Isuzu D-max....

The Joint Venture covenant between the two (GM Chevrolet and Isuzu Japan) is already over, that's why just in the recent past right after the end the JV, Volkswagen wanted to buy or JV with Isuzu which didn't turn out to be successful....

    Cheers!

Nice truck! Hopefully the VM motori manufactured engine wont be sensitive in diesel fuel as frequently experienced with other CRDI pickup trucks like hard starting or choking problems.

Sir, the 2012 Trailblazer diesel was developed by GM-Chevrolet in Brazil.

According to one of the members at the Facebook page of Racechip Pro PH, a Brazilian national, the sulphur in their diesel fuel in South America reaches by the thousand ppm. And yet we Pinoys are quite fussy about our Euro 2 fuel supply in the country when ours contain only around 300 to 500 ppm sulphur. Some are also clamouring for Euro 5 fuel supply, even when Euro 2 emission standard is the level of enforcement in Philippines. But of course, there are other contaminants that we're wary of with the supply of fuel; water can be one and also dirt or possible precipitates from fuel tanks through time if left unmaintained with the probability of finding their way in the pump fuel supply line and onto our fuel tanks.

As long as the high-pressure commonrail of the Trailblazer is adaptable to the fuel supply in Philippines, the suction valve and the EGR as well, the Trailblazer may have no problem with our fuel supply.

I thought I'd be more helpful than the rest and post actual relevant stuff about this pickup. Hopefully to inform the majority readers who just want useful details to make them choose between this and the rest. Here goes:

    2012 Chevrolet Colorado 2.8 LTZ 4x4 A/T
    180hp 470nm Black, as advertised
Freebie given to me was 3M Color Stable Tints
Purchased in Chevrolet Makati, Pasong Tamo Extension

It's significantly longer than the DMax.
Bad: When I use a specific pair of shoes, I tend to slip a lot on the stepboard (I dunno, maybe its just the shoes)

Projector headlamps in the front. Fogs also use projectors. Reflector high beams.
Bad: Stock bulbs weren't bright enough for me. Replaced with different ones.

The LED tail lights actually look really good.

Bad: Truck bed was bare. Gonna have to source a good spray on bed liner.

Interior: Nothing fancy or spectacular. But I like it.
I put a steering wheel cover to preserve it - I tend to hold on a little tight sometimes; and I have sweaty hands.
Bad: The cold air from the A/C tends to hit my hands directly.

Power is way more than enough. I probably should have gotten a 2.5 instead - I don't race, I prefer fuel economy.
Suspension and ride height - higher than the DMax (I've owned 3); not as punishing as the DMax.
I did not take a picture of the rear seats, but leg room is actually really good.
I'm currently at 5kms - no problems yet.

BTW, whenever I reference DMax I'm talking about the older 2011 DMax LS; not the current one in Thailand.

Nice truck sir For the bed spray. I suggest you bring it at SAVI along Timog ave. We had our Mitsu L200 sprayed over there way back 1996 and also our hilux around 2006. Last time it cost me was like 21,000.00

Coating is good. Only some areas of the coat was chipped off from loading/unloading construction materials.

I use either V-Power Diesel or Petron Turbodiesel on it; though I am pretty sure the cheap diesel from the big 3 gas stations will suffice. Maybe I just feel comfortable using the most expensive diesel cus the pickup is new - arte lang; not needed at all.

Fuel consumption is at 13.4 liters per 100 km. That's around 3000km since reset; EDSA, C-5, Makati, QC. Balanced mix of heavy traffic to no traffic at all; I have a really heavy foot.

Never tried the back seats myself but a passenger told me the ride was horrible.
