my CRV way back '99 was only 820K, 4WD, Fully-loaded. Gen2, naging 1.2M, ngaun gen 3 1.5M na
parang may mali talaga sa car industry. I hope the chinese succeeds

I share the same sentiments... i mean the medium sized owner in the late 90's is now only a compact car owner. I dunno, i guess it's due to the appreciation of the dollar from the past... and maybe other rising costs as well(ex. petrol, insurance, rising manufacturing cost, tax, new more expensive technologies etc). a 97 lancer was only 500k+ bnew back then, a galant for only 800k more or less bnew. now, a lancer costs 750k upwards to 900k(for the 2.0 version) more or less. a new galant is 1.4-1.5M

You don't need an industrial design degree to see that their vehicles share almost all body panels (some even go to as high as 100% except for the badge) with their copied vehicles (like the Rav4 lookalike).
In the automotive industry, that's considered as "copyright infringement" already.

June 6th, 2007 08:41 PM #66Have any chinese carmaker ever been found guilty of copyright infringement by any court? Being accuse is different from being guilty. Baka naman di ganoon kadali ang definition ng infringement. What I mean is, if I copy a levi's jeans design in so many similar ways but change a small detail, Put my own brand, would I be guilty of copyright infringement? Maybe a patent attorney among fellow tsikoteers can enligthen us about this. Baka naman we are jumping into conclusions.

as i know,
iba ang business practice in china--> kung gusto mo mag-busness sa kanila, ang requirement nila, dapat may local busness man kang partner, kaya dun nakakaroon ng design copying, which in turn, pinagsasama nila yung pinakamabentang design to make their products buyable..example lang are those CETC-brand cellphones na sa unang tingin kala mo nokia/SE phone, pero most may touch-screens at kung anung features na di nakalagay sa original product.. i may not have complete confidence over chinese product, heck mas matibay ay mas magaling ang mga assembled ng pinoy na sasakyan, at sa electronics naman, well, most cellphones/E.gadgets natin galing/assembled in china..
and as i know, china is one of the countries i know na di pumirma sa "IPO/copyright" law na yun..kaya di sila mapipigilan gumawa nang ganun... now nasa consumer nalang to decide... diba kung pangit ang brand, at di nag-improve why buy kahit mura? para lang yan pagbili mo ng grocery-> only a diiference of a centavo matters, pero kung natikman mong di worth ang natipid mo, di mo ulit bibilhin, right?
ps > sir carlo, pag tesdrive kayo, PM nyo ako dito, please?Last edited by alwayz_yummy; June 6th, 2007 at 10:05 PM.

if they're cheap to own, at makakakuha ng local-spare parts, ok na din yan...in the long run it is just like converting your 90's pride to a japanese one...
nexus, grabe presyo ng auto prominence,e...presyong luxury car na,e!
thos JAC truck are good for light duties(school bus, gulay, water) but not feasible on heavy loads like sand, gravel, h.block, lumbers, and most harware items bibigay agad ang pangilalim...
