Fortunate ako since 2013 may privilege ako mag work from home. Kapag nasa opis ako sira ang flow ko, hindi ko makuha yung "in the zone" moment.

One positive effect of the pandemic is that companies now have the option to allow wfh. For example, the IT-BPO sector is now allowed to register under BOI which allows wfh 100%! As for the rest of the PEZA registered enterprises, hangang dec 31 na lang ang 70-30.

First time ko ginawa na daily nasa office (except Monday).
Uulan pala hanggang weekend, payday pa bukas.. Good luck sa heavy traffic x2..
Salamat na hybrid set up pa kami, pwede na ako WFH until end of month..

Seems like that's the standard. Mga friends ko puro ganyan. Bihira yung full WFH or 1/2x onsite.

Sa amin one day a week ang work from office. Teams should be scheduled to work on office on the same day. Para daw camaraderie or something.

Swerte lang ako at pinayagan ako WFH 100%. I just make sure na hindi ako MIA during work hours tulad nung iba kong ka officemate.
[emoji23][emoji1308] Isa silang bot sa chat since di mo sila kilala in human form..

I have an officemate na lugi company pag WFH sya. One hour after the shift "idle" na, AFK na. Lalo na pag few hours before shift ends mahimbing na tulog non. Ako taga gising pag hinahanap ng client via fb messenger, sms at call. Hindi nagigising.

Meron naman sa ibang company, hirap din hanapin during WFH, day shift, this is during pandemic, Yun pala nag carinderia while shift.

Since the site is paywalled, here is a link to the group which created the study (there is a lot more research here, too):

WFH Research | Survey of Working Arrangements and Attitudes

As a person who has done WFH, ran teams remotely, and managed hybrid teams from different parts of the world, I can tell you that there is no one-size-fits-all approach primarily because there are socio-economic and cultural nuances which can be factors.

For instance, people in big cities typically can do WFH because the internet infrastructure is robust and more reliable than some people in rural areas. However, people in big cities typically have smaller apartments where it is far more difficult to delineate a workspace vs "home-space" (including the distractions that go along with it, like chores).

There are industries as well where WFH will just not make sense (logistics, healthcare) and cultures where it won't fit (Japan) or bureacracies that rely heavily on paper documents (Philippines and Germany).

In developing countries like the Philippines, it is even more difficult to do WFH because of socio-economic reasons: small homes, bigger families, lack of robust internet access, lack of air-conditioning, lack of home automation like dishwashers and washing machines, and a host of others. All this put together can result in a distracted office worker without the necessary stimuli to be productive.

Actually, pakinabang pa ang company kasi she also puts in OTY frequently because of overseas call na hindi swak sa shift nya due to time zone difference. Ngayon na 3 days office na sila, ganun pa rin, once she gets home, she rushes to open her laptop to take scheduled calls

Moved to a new company with WFH as one of the primary benefits.
Kahit nasa Pinas they allow me to do that.
    My previous job rdi pwede.

Kaya mga tao dito magkikita lang once or twice in 2 months.

Is productivity affected? In a way. Kasi there are some tasks na hindi nila maipaliwanag or mai-demo remotely so they need to re-schedule. But overall outcome - no issues sa management as long as ma-close mga contracts.

Luckily our company walang problema sa WFH. You even need to justify why you need to go to the office. Sa team namin ng mga devs, may sarili kaming Teams GC where we share the status of our workload. Tanong-tanong kapag may di maintindihan.

If that's the case kasi, employee attitude na yan di ba? So you bring them to office para mabantayan mo, di ba sayang time mo. If alam mo bulakbol pag WFH di tanggalin. May mechanisms in place naman to protect both company and employee from these situations. I'm sure you will be doing the same kung nasa office sya at below par ang performance.
